At Widerstandsnest 227 near Landemer, German soldiers once guarded the beach west of Cherbourg. Their concrete bunkers were built to stop an invasion. Now, two anti-tank bunkers (type 667) stand in the middle of the sand. The silent witnesses to a coastline that has slowly lost ground to the sea.
