Students, professors ask questions in a major German University about my book: From Vladimir Lenin to Vladimir Putin: Russia in Search of its Identity. Their questions and reactions reveal their attitudes: to Putin, to Russia, to Ukraine war, to Russia's place in Europe, to their overall attitude to the past, the Russian German relations. All these questions lead to a larger issue: Why did the promise of a new and united Europe after the end of Communism failed to materialize? Why are we entering a new Cold War that can easily escalate into a new big war in Europe. Who is to blame and what to do? That is the question.
Dr. Brovkin is a Russian born American historian, now retired who studied in Germany in his youth, received a PhD from Princeton, served as a Professor of Soviet History at Harvard, taught in Morocco and a Russian University.
