Today’s guest is award winning author of 11 books George Saunders whose titles include: most recently , A Swim in the Pond in the Rain, Lincoln in the Bardo, winner of the 2017 Man Booker Prize and also finalist for the Golden Man Booker, his short story collection Tenth of December, finalist for the National Book Award and winner of the Folio Prize and the Story Prize in 2013, as well as Pastoralia. His writings regularly appear in The New Yorker. He is also the recipient of MacArthur and Guggenheim Fellowships, the PEN/Malamud Prize for excellence in the short story and is a member of both the American Academy of Arts and Letters, as well as the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. George Saunders has also been a professor in the Syracuse University Creative Writing program since 1997.
