I wanted to learn more about socialism, and particularly about famous author George Orwell's views on the topic. I had heard the best place to look for that was his personal account of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), Homage To Catalonia (originally published in 1938).
Here I talk first about my personal history with reading, and what books and authors I like, then about what socialism means and some of it's nuances, then finally look at Orwell's views on socialism as seen through the prism of Homage To Catalonia.
