Geologists say there has been no global flood as described in the Bible, despite the existence of a monumental body of evidence. Should Christians accept such assertions from scientists who adhere rigidly to philosophical naturalism?
This presentation provides an introduction to geology and argues for an interpretation of the geological column that is naturally derived from the Biblical account. The worldviews that underlie secular interpretations of the Earth's crust will be examined, and several key events will be highlighted to illustrate geology's historic bias against catastrophism. We will also see geologic features, such as strata and canyons, which can form very rapidly, challenging these long-standing examples of an old Earth.
