The Room 17 deck’s main distinction from the original House of the Rising Spade release is two fold; the newly designed tuckcase and gold gilded edges. More on the gilding a bit later. First let’s focus on the tuck case. The gorgeous tuck, printed by Lotrek’s Oath Playing Cards, uses high quality matte red cardstock and features deep embossing and red and gold foil printing. The front of the box features a gold foil spade rife with scrollwork embellishments and a center die-cut keyhole. The entirety of the remaining tuck box real estate is covered in embossed runic symbols that are a promise to a deeper mystery hidden within the deck.
