On 27 August 2026, we brought together leading voices from academia, international organizations and civil society to reflect on its role as a global hub for international humanitarian law (IHL).
Held as part of the Geneva Global Gathering of IHL Professors, the discussion explored Geneva’s contribution to IHL, the role of key institutions and practitioners, and how the city can help address today’s challenges, from protecting civilians to regulating weapons and strengthening political commitment to the rules of war.
