Genesis Magma Racing makes its 24 Hours of Le Mans debut in the FIA WEC Hypercar class at the Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France — June 13–14, 2026. This is Round 3 of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season and the most prestigious event in endurance racing.
The Korean luxury automotive brand enters two GMR-001 LMDh Hypercars. Car #17 is driven by André Lotterer, Pipo Derani, and Mathys Jaubert. Car #19 is driven by Mathieu Jaminet, Paul-Loup Chatin, and Daniel Juncadella, with Jamie Chadwick serving as Reserve and Development Driver. The programme is led by Hyundai Motorsport and team principal Cyril Abiteboul.
The GMR-001 is Genesis Magma Racing's Le Mans Daytona hybrid (LMDh) Hypercar — developed to compete at the highest level of sportscar racing against Ferrari, Toyota, Porsche, and Cadillac. Genesis Magma Racing previously competed at Le Mans in LMP2 in 2025 and scored its first WEC Hypercar points at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps 2026.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the world's oldest active endurance race, first held in 1923. Completing 24 hours of continuous racing at the Circuit de la Sarthe — a 13.6 km circuit combining closed public roads and a permanent racing facility — represents the ultimate test of man, machine, and strategy.
