There is a huge difference between the rate at which mutations are known to occur and the rate at which they supposedly accumulate over evolutionary timescales. In the end, according to what we know about mutation, 'Y Chromosome Adam' and 'Mitochondrial Eve' lived only a few thousand years ago.
