GRIME just released its free Colors of Rot expansion, so I decided it'd be a good time to go back and take a look at it. Turns out it's a really unique Metroidvania with fun combat, great exploration, and a truly weird and wonderful world. The lore and enemy designs are strange and alien, and the boss fights are challenging. The expansion is also an impressive amount of content to offer for free. I'd say the whole package is even more worth a look now, it's nicely rounded out by updates to easily justify the price tag.
