This is my Gemmy Animated Woodpecker & Goldfinch Duet that are part of the popular Living Garden Singing Bird series that were around back in the peak years of classic Gemmy animated items! I got this last year back in 2024 in great condition, rubber intact on both birds, and fully working with no split gears or anything occurring on both as a bonus! It’s easily one of my few most personal favorite singing birds in the Gemmy Living Garden item series and I’m so glad to finally obtain one after wanting this one for so long. I absolutely love the song they sing as well, especially for it have a slight bit of high-energy to it which makes it a bop to hear from these birds.
These guys sing one song together which is called “Knock On Wood” (the Goldfinch Bird being the main vocalist while the Woodpecker is the beat drummer/pecker during the song), and they make realistic bird noises of their own where the Woodpecker makes pecking noises, and the Goldfinch makes its unique chirping noises. They were released in the years of 2000-2002. The most odd thing is that this is the only Living Garden Animated Bird item that has a woodpecker and a Goldfinch together as most of the others are mostly Cardinals and/or Robins, and that’s probably another reason why this one is so unique & is becoming easily desirable to collectors as I’ve noticed.
Mine is also the second generation model as there are apparently two generations that exist of this Gemmy Woodpecker and Goldfinch Duet! The second gens (like mine) have a couple pauses during the song while the first gen ones don’t have pauses in between while singing the song “Knock On Wood.” Another difference between the two is that the 1st Gens seem to always have their rubber deteriorate badly while the 2nd Gens have better rubber, but can still deteriorate if not careful in any way, but at least it’s not common for the 2nd Gens to get their rubber skin all worn off compared to how many 1st Gen models I’ve seen that have it worse in terms of their rubber quality materials.
They’re also very uncommon to find since they’re pretty desirable like I said but they’re nowhere near extremely rare or anything, mostly very uncommon to find but sometimes they can be slightly hard to find as well as their rarity changes depending on how many show up for sale time to time, but definitely not often compared to some other Living Garden Birds from Gemmy.

*Also, these guys do get POSSESSED (Glitchy) when you run them on lower batteries like most classic Gemmy items can, and when they get possessed on lower batteries (which is usually during the song), it’s so incredibly creepy you have no idea!* 😆😆
