The Geminids meteor shower happens once a year when the Earth passes through the debris left behind by the asteroid 3200 Phaethon. It is one of the most active and consistent meteor showers and starts in mid-November each year, reaching its peak around December 13th and 14th. In places with little light pollution, the shower can produce over 100 meteors per hour during this period.
