Gemini 2.5 Pro is a very good model, but it is twice the price of o3, not because it is much more expensive per token, but because it uses more reasoning tokens for the same task.

OpenAI o3 is pretty good at coding too. So, it's my go-to, and if that doesn't work, I use Pro 2.5, and then Claude.

Recommendation: Regardless of your strategy, do not lock yourself into one model provider.
