Pilot was and still is my least favorite class (apart from the Engineers.)
I just can't stand how the linear design painstakingly keeps it from being top tier. Pilot has 2 shifting dynamics.
One is the Silverback itself which has (for the most part) been a great addition to the Gears of War franchise. However, here in five, it feels weighed down by the usage of mods needing to be present to even equip two weapons at a time.
The next dynamic in the Pilot's assets is the character itself.
The idea of cryo rounds is super cool, but they don't even become a factor until the enemies life-bar is dwindled down to almost nothing. The enforcer and dropshot are also standout weapons for the pilot. Both of them allow the Pilot to capitalize on top tier damage while also getting a stim boost, but these mods ultimately go sacrificed as a result of you needing to make a simple choice. "Mod for Silverback, or mod for the Pilot itself."
In my opinion we shouldn't have to choose. We should be able to utilize the best of both worlds. Without either of them feeling complete, this class just isn't as fun. Still, all of this could just be considered as me being dramatic. After you see my build and experiment for yourself, you let me know what you think about it in the comment section!
