This bookstore owner and reading enthusiast is urging people in Gaza not to burn books for cooking or keeping warm.

Mohamed Saad says, “Don't burn them, because books have value, and books are life for a person." Israeli forces destroyed his home and library, along with dozens of libraries and bookstores across Gaza since Oct. 2023. Thousands of literary volumes have been destroyed.
