Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJD), located in Otay Mesa, San Diego County, is a high-security state prison notorious for housing some of California’s most dangerous and infamous criminals. Among its most notorious inmates is Suge Knight, the former rap mogul who founded Death Row Records, as well as the Menendez Brothers and Tex Watson. They invited me to come and sit down with some of the LGBTQIA+ residents. It was an experience I'll never forget.
