This game has been hyped up for many years, and the demo has finally released today. I've always thought this game looked pretty cool, so I've had it in my Steam wishlist since April 2024.
Not much to really say, other than the demo being out, it'll take roughly 10 minutes to beat, and that the release date is set to be on August 27.
As for the run itself:
I don't have any idea how to efficiently kill the 2 required skeletons in the 2nd room, and I barely have any kind of strategy against Mori.
Overall movement is decent, but I think I can save at least 5 seconds before getting to the Mori fight.
I don't know if I'll improve on the demo, but it's kinda fun.
As for timing:
I started the timer as I pressed "Play Demo", and I intended to stop the timer once I defeated Mori. I didn't stop the timer immediately, but time would've been like 2;48.
But I decided to start the timer once the logo disappeared on the loading screen. This makes timing a little bit more precise and removes potential time loss from the loading screen taking longer for others, assuming others want to try. So depending on how you look at it, it's either 2;43 or 2;48. Either way, I'm proud of this fast time.

![Resident Evil Requiem | PC Casual NG+ NIA No Intro [1:53:40.79]
Here is my first REAL official RE9 run!
The autosplitter once again wasnt properly set up, but the only issue this time was not splitting on Hope, but it still ended at the end of the game. So thats fine.
My original first run was technically against the rules, as FPS wasnt showing (as theres a 120fps cap). So FPS is showing, and this run should be valid since the mod didnt point anything else out.
This is still a trash run, but Im glad to finally start getting somewhere half decent.
Category breakdown, for those who may not know:
- No Intro:
There are 2 categories. Full Game and No Intro.
Full Game is the base game
No Intro skips the intro, and by extension, allows you to skip the entire orphanage segment, where you play as Chloe (since both parts involve doing basically nothing).
- NIA:
NIA stands for No Infinite Ammo, as that is one of the most op cheats.
Most of the other cheats are allowed, but infinite ammo changes too much of the game, as everything can be blasted with the Requiem.
- NG+:
New Game+ doesnt actually exist in the same way other games do, but it allows you to buy all weapons and equipment from any box, and there is more boxes to buy from.
Additionally, you are allowed to (optionally) start with a lighter and bottle as Grace, and can start with the 5000 and 3000 point bands as Leon.
The NG+ categories also only allow you to do Casual and Insanity mode.
- PC
As for playing on PC, there are a couple of mods that are allowed, and the livesplit autosplitter makes it easier to time runs with LRT, compared to the console rules where RTA is used.
As for the run itself:
I play too carefully, and I did not need the extra inventory space as Grace, but I didnt want to take too many risks. I should limit myself to 1 pouch at most. Though, 0 is the standard
I had a rough time with Chunk skip, and didnt have the ammo for the Chunk fight. Was way too slow on the spider, and probably need to improve on the Hunk fight.
There are a ton of areas I couldve simply done better, but those are the parts Id say I was more upset about.

![Petit Game Collection | Break Out KAngel Speedrun WR [28.73]
This game is one of a few minigames on the new a NSO spinoff game, known as Petit Game Collection (as you could tell from the title).
This run was originally done when there was no leaderboard, so I made it up as I went. So for the sake of the run, time started on closing the dialogue before youre able to play the game, and ended on the first frame when the last block is destroyed (giving a time of 29.71).
Now that there is an official leaderboard on speedrun.com, the new timing method is as follows: Time starts on first input of playing the game, and ends on the first frame when the last block is destroyed (giving a new time of 28.73).
Yay for sub 30 though! Petit Game Collection | Break Out KAngel Speedrun WR [28.73]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/i6Brc8AHjdA/mqdefault.jpg)

![Needy Streamer Overload | Internet Overdose Speedrun WR [8:07.81]
While looking back at some of the runs, I realized that Internet Overdose seemed out of date.
First of all, I knew I could do the glitch to get Darkness 2 faster. The quicker I can get the 120 stress cap, the better.
Next, I started to wonder why I was doing so many streams before, especially since I technically just need to reach Darkness 1. And I still need 80/120 on Day 25, so that would need to be figured out.
After all of that, I just had the conclusion that the best outcome would be spamming Sleep To Tomorrow, and then getting to 80 stress optimally.
This run can still technically be faster, by playing on an old version of the game, but I cant be bothered to do so. Maybe some other time. Itd be a very easy way to get a sub 8.

![DreadOut 1 | Any% True Ending Speedrun [1:00:51]
Im trying to get decent at DreadOut 1, and I plan to de-rust DreadOut 2. When DreadOut 3 releases, Im hoping I can do DreadOut Trilogy speederuns. Those will likely be an endurance run, but Id rather get good at doing longer runs. I used to speedrun GTA 5 and TLOU, and now I cant stand simpler runs lmao
This is also the first video Im uploading that is entirely on Linux. Played, recorded, edited, and uploaded all on Linux. Im trying my best to switch over and remove Windows entirely. (I use Arch, btw)
Since I cant seem to properly use Livesplit (crashes with Wine, and doesnt open with Proton), I very recently found a Livesplit alternative called OpenSpeedRun. Since I use Wayland (X11 is extremely buggy for me), I cant get global hotkeys to work, but this alternative has a cli version, which allows me to use terminal command shortcuts, which is basically the same thing, and connects to the GUI version that is on-screen. I am still getting used to the shortcuts, so I accidentally reset my splits after Act 0.
Either way, OpenSpeedRun is one of the best timers Ive used on Linux. It definitely needs more time to be improved, but its a project I believe in, and Id be very willing to financially help out the devs a little bit, if I could ever get in touch.
To talk about the run:
Because of this forum post (https://www.speedrun.com/dreadout/forums/f2ji6), I figured out that I could basically have infinite stamina if I precisely time when I press and release the sprint key. This means walking is almost nonexistent, if done properly.
I still suck at doing literally everything else, but I might get better soon. DreadOut 1 | Any% True Ending Speedrun [1:00:51]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/jQDHbWZUx8A/mqdefault.jpg)

![NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE: Endless Nightmare Blue Screen Edition | Any% Speedrun [28:55]
Fairly proud of this run! I didnt make any major mistakes, so thats good!
Though, I am playing on a slightly previous version for this run (newest one that I was given before official release). Theres no major differences. Its mostly just some visual changes, so its probably fine to just upload this.

![Needy Streamer Overload TAS | Internet Runaway Angel: Be Invoked [6:10.06]
For those who may not know what a TAS is, T.A.S. (Tool Assisted Speedrun/Superplay) is the process of doing a speedrun, while using tools to manipulate many factors of a game, in order to create a theoretical perfect speedrun.
The term tools can often refer to many aspects, such as using mods that manipulate luck factors, speed, savestates, or fully custom tools that give you internal information.
More specifically to this video, this run uses an auto player mod made by the NSO modder, Frostworth.
This auto player basically runs off of code that attempts to do every action as soon as it is capable of doing so, making for the most optimal time for everything.
For more information on TASes, most people like to refer to Bismuths video on explaining TASes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ietk1-Wb7oY
All tools used were made by Frostworth. Please check out all of their awesome NSO mods!
