Is the age of the Earth a big deal for Christians? That's the question, and it came up because a guy named Dr. Gavin Ortlund made a video on YouTube. He's a pastor, scholar, and YouTuber.

In his video, he seriously disagrees Ken Ham, who started Answers In Genesis. Just so you know, I like Ken Ham's work.

Ken Ham believes strongly in a young Earth, and Dr. Ortlund says that Ken is wrong to say it's the only way Christians should think about it. Ortlund thinks there's more to it and that the church didn't always agree on this.

When you want to respond to someone as smart as Dr. Ortlund, you need to have experts with you. Apolojedi and Ben Kissling are those experts, and I'm excited they joined me for this discussion.

If you're curious about what the Bible says about how old the Earth is and what Christians have thought about it over time, this talk is for you.

If you talk to young people about big questions in life and about religion, this is for you.

And if you just want to learn more to better explain and defend your faith, this is for you too.

In this episode, pay attention to:

• Why some people bring up Augustine when they talk about Earth's age, and what Augustine really believed.
• Where Augustine might have gone wrong and why we should be careful about following everything he said.
• What the Christian church as a whole believed about the Earth's age in the past.
