The 2.5D Gamer | Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows (Xbox) Gameplay (Upscaled on an Xbox 360) -No Commentary- @DookieCakes | Uploaded 1 year ago | Updated 7 minutes ago
This one is a recent acquisition for me. I've been meaning to pick it up for a while though. In the 6th gen, Midway tried to remake all their classic games, and even though the PS2/Xbox/CG already had Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, Midway even tried revamping the Gauntlet series with Seven Sorrows on the PS2 and Xbox. No Gamecube release, because of the Online play I'm betting.
So far, from what I have played, though I definitely like Dark Legacy better, Seven Sorrows is actually a solid game. It would definitely be a lot more fun with four-players. Maybe it wouldn't top Gauntlet Legends, but the game is still quite enjoyable in it's own right. Solid game so far. Looking up the official reviews for this game, and man, screw the gaming media. This is another game that got hosed by them despite being a pretty good game. They probably couldn't beat the first level anyway.
Midway's games on the PS2/Xbox/CG are some of the best of that generation. They were on fire, churning out some excellent games beyond Mortal Kombat. Honestly, I would vote for Midway being the most hidden gem developer of that generation, because their efforts went largely unappreciated by gamers.
