Gaudi’s La Pedrera - Casa Milà, Barcelona
Casa Milà (1906-1912) is a building built by the architect Antoni Gaudí commissioned by Pere Milà and Roser Segimon. The name of the building, "Casa Milà", is due to this fact, it was the new residence of the Milà family. The couple occupied the main floor and rented the rest of the houses.
Casa Milà is the most emblematic civil building of Antoni Gaudí, both for its constructive and functional innovations and for the ornamental and decorative solutions. It is a total work of art.

Known as "La Pedrera" for its exterior appearance, similar to an open-air quarry, it has shapes extracted from nature.
It was Gaudí's last civil work and meant the break with the schemes of his time.
