What started as an exciting wildlife sighting turned into a shocking reminder of why you should never leave food or scented items in your vehicle while visiting the Great Smoky Mountains.
Join us as we spot a beautiful black bear walking along the opposite side of the river in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Watching these incredible animals in their natural habitat is always a special experience, but this visit took an unexpected turn when the bear went into a parking lot and broke into a pickup truck in search of food, where a truck had food in the back of the truck.
This real-life encounter highlights just how powerful and intelligent black bears are. It also serves as an important reminder to properly store food, coolers, drinks, pet food, and anything with a scent when you're visiting bear country. Bears that learn to associate vehicles and people with food can become a danger to themselves and people.
