Rev. Dani Kilgore of Church Without Walls Berkeley opened Gather tonight. In her sermon titled "Lord, Is It Me?," she named our tendency to look around and ask, "Who needs to change?" Instead, she called us to stop long enough to ask a more difficult and holy question: "Lord, is it me?"
When the power went out in the ballroom, Pastor Kilgore continued preaching without a mic, reminding us that the miracle of the Covenant isn't that we agree on everything. The miracle is that Jesus keeps making family out of people who wouldn't naturally choose each other.
