The Evangelical Covenant Church presents the 2025 T.W. Anderson Outstanding Layperson Award to Roger Rosengren.
Roger Rosengren embodies a life of faithful service, leadership, and
mission that spans more than five decades. A lifelong member of
Alexandria Covenant Church in Alexandria, Minnesota, Roger has
been a cornerstone of his congregation and community, serving
in a wide range of roles. His legacy includes more than 40 years
of mentoring students through the student ministries program,
teaching, leading, using his construction skills to build church
facilities, and modeling the love of Christ through hands-on service.
Roger’s impact extends far beyond Minnesota. He has fervently
served the Lord, participating in countless mission trips to Alaska
for more than 20 years. He mobilized and guided teams from his
home church to serve at Alaska Christian College, Covenant village
churches, Covenant Bible Camp, and KICY Radio. His craftsmanship
as a contractor has transformed ministry spaces, including a major
expansion of New Hope Counseling Center on the campus of Alaska
Christian College.
Even more than his skills, Roger’s heart—his willingness to love, mentor, and serve without recognition—has touched countless lives across generations and cultures. Whether leading a mission team, sharing the gospel on a job site, or walking alongside youth in their faith journeys,
Roger exemplifies the heart of lay ministry and an extraordinary life of service. He lives out his calling with humility, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to Christ.
