this video shows setup of gasless flux core welding also known as self shielded flux core.
Pay special attention to the part about polarity.
Most self shielded flux core wires are designed to be used on DCEN.
Problem is the bare wire mig needs DCEP.
So if someone used the welder before you with bare wire mig, you need to swap polarity.
