We discovered a gas leak on our six-burner commercial stovetop, so we calmly shut the stove down and turned off the gas supply before beginning any work.
After locating the leak, we determined that it was coming from the fitting that supplies gas to the stove’s pilot lights. I removed the affected part and temporarily isolated the connection using a correctly sized threaded brass plug and gas-rated thread-seal tape. This allowed us to safely address the leaking connection while waiting for the proper replacement part.
