Back in 2017 the GDDR5 GT 1030 was a decent low-cost graphics card that was ideal for gamers on a budget. Consuming just 30W of power, this GPU was also ideal for upgrading aging prebuilt machines. No power connector? Frustrated with integrated graphics? Just slap a 1030 in your PC and it had a whole new lease of life!

These days this card is still best suited to indie or esports titles, but we're going to be putting it up against some of the more intensive AAA titles out there. We'll also be discussing the awful DDR4 version, the one you should try to avoid if you want one of these in 2025.
