Back in 2018 Intel launched a processor to celebrate a 40-year milestone in computing. The limited edition 8086K was a cherry-picked, decent overclocker that could hit at least 5GHz on all cores with ease.

It was also the first Intel chip to hit this speed out of the box, second only to the AMD FX 9590, albeit on a single core. Let's take a look back at it today and see how it compares to a modern 6 core, 12 thread option.
