The legendary Tiger Gamecom has arrived on MiSTer FPGA, bringing one of gaming's most unusual handheld systems back into the spotlight. Released in 1997, the Gamecom attempted to compete with Nintendo's Game Boy by offering touchscreen controls, internet connectivity, and surprisingly ambitious ports of major console and PC franchises.

Among the most infamous titles on the platform are Resident Evil 2 and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. These versions have become legendary within retro gaming circles for somehow squeezing massive PlayStation experiences onto a monochrome handheld with a fraction of the original hardware's power. The results are fascinating, bizarre, and undeniably unique.

The Gamecom version of Resident Evil 2 condenses the survival horror classic into a portable experience complete with zombies, exploration, puzzles, and boss encounters. Meanwhile, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night transforms one of the greatest games ever made into a handheld adventure that has to be seen to be believed.

While nobody would seriously claim these are the definitive versions of either game, they remain some of the most entertaining and ambitious portable conversions ever attempted. The arrival of Gamecom support offers a chance to revisit a forgotten handheld, explore its strange library, and experience a truly unique chapter in gaming history.
