Welcome to Game Center Live, the weekly talk show streamed live from the NYU Game Center!
In yet again another jam packed Game Center Live, the LAST Micro Game Jam of the semester takes place. MFAs Katie and Julian, challenged by the last contestants of the Micro Game Jam, were tasked with creating a game throughout the duration of this stream using items from our Prototype Cart pulled from a hat.
Afterward, Ty, Francisco, and moochi, members of the MFA team making “pondlife,” ran a live playtest with participation from members in chat! They discuss their game making process behind this thesis project, and the decisions that went into building their in-game world, characters, and sounds.
Then My Library 3 returns with Game Center alum, ex Librarian, and adjunct instructor Emily Koonce, joined by Library manager and Game Center Live producer Gwynna Forgham-Thrift. They each perused our enormous collection of games here at the Game Center and chose 3 games that currently resonate with them to discuss on stream.
Finally, Katie and Julian rejoin the stream to showcase their Micro Game Jam game!
