Here's a nice little money saving mod that also makes changing your Game Boy Color's game save battery really convenient. Instead of replacing the original with an identical (and usually expensive) tabbed CR2025 unit, why not fit a cheap button cell battery holder? They're usually much cheaper and it'll make future battery replacements extremely easy!
The type I use in this video is a CR1220 battery and a surface mount CR1220 button cell holder. I bought a bag of 10 holders and 10 batteries for a total of £3 delivered (around $5 USD) on ebay. That's near enough the price of a single identical Game Boy save battery I'd have otherwise had to buy!
