In which I tempt fate at the very end.
Because the bunker on the right side of the screen is a Gatling Bunker (with 500 Range and a 50 vsPers rating), it becomes clear that breaking through the no-man's-land from the left is best. It's important not to capture the marked camp until you have enough CP to deal with the Heavy Tank, so that the Edelweiss doesn't get blown up by it on the enemy phase -- Selvaria's interception fire eats through its health quickly enough that movement to those pits on the field is hardly a safe bet.
I hadn't done the last bit of the stage in a while and forgot about the minefield in the trench on the way to the back of the camp. But thankfully using that backdoor wasn't necessary.
