Is the tragic death of Gaby Petitio domestic abuse? One size does NOT fit all - and what if Gaby's death and life can help us ALL understand the needs of her generation that we are missing. What if the Moab Police had no way of seeing what was happening because they compared it to their lives which is miles away from where Gaby and her boyfriend were in their lives. How can adults help? How can therapists update us? What must we look at to help the younger generations?
What was not heard here? Let's look at what was developing, but not yet learned or understood. Not knowing what was happening to you in a relationship is not a personal flaw. We can't use communication skills - if we don't know what is going on. Maybe we need to listen more. Let's look at a few dynamics of the new relationships in younger folks, and the startling label older generations use to help them understand who to blame.
