Despite being produced in 2009, the GA anime was originally mastered in standard-definition, despite Japan beginning its transition from analog to digital. These SD masters are still used today after an entire decade and a half on Crunchyroll (where it has English subtitles), despite HD masters having been made for a Blu-Ray release in 2012.
Both masters show not much of a difference besides an improvement in quality (the HD master has cleaner footage compared to the SD masters). However, the most noticeable difference is with the credit text in the OP and ED, as they appear to have been manually recreated; Note how the text in the SD masters appear more squashed (especially the Joshibi University credit) compared to the HD masters.
