This quick Blender tutorial will show you how to add a modifier to multiple objects at the same time in Blender. We will also cover how to edit modifiers on multiple objects at once. Also, we can copy a modifier from one object to many other objects with a simple Blender shortcut.
Save time in Blender by adding, editing, and applying modifiers on more than one object at a time. Set up a modifier on one object and copy it to many other objects. We'll learn what the active object is in Blender and how to select it. Have you ever wondered why some object outlines are yellow and others are orange? The yellow outline is the active object and there can only be one active object at a time.

There are so many settings in Blender that I often can't remember how to find the one I'm looking for. I lately realized there's a handy search bar in the Blender Properties Panel. Type in a keyword and it greys out and collapses all the settings that don't match. It highlights and expands only the settings that match that keyword. It's an incredibly useful Blender tip and part of my upcoming 50 Blender Tips sequel video!

Traditionally, saving a Blender file will overwrite the previously saved version of the file. In a recent Blender update, the Save Incremental feature was added. When we save a Blender file incrementally, it saves the file as a new file and numbers the file sequentially. With this, we can go back to previously saved versions of our projects in Blender.

If you encounter a time when the 3D Viewport appears to flicker or glitch when you move your view, it's a simple fix. It's not actually a bug in Blender, it's a setting that needs to be adjusted. This short Blender tutorial will show you how to fix the glitching you may see in the 3D Viewport.

The flickering and glitching you see in the Blender 3D viewport is caused by the Clip Start setting being too low. To fix the flickering, we open the sidebar menu and under "View" increase the Clip Start setting until the glitch goes away.
This video will also explain what the clip start and clip end settings are for. There are actually two places you'll see the Clip Start and Clip End settings in Blender. Each camera has its own clipping settings which may need to be adjusted.

More about Edit Mode in Blender: brandon3d.com/edit-mode-in-blender
In Blender, Edit Mode is where we edit the structure and other features of an object. Object Mode is where we arrange objects in our scene. Other modes include Sculpt Mode, Vertex Paint Mode, Weight Paint Mode, and Texture Paint Mode. We will briefly cover each of these modes and how to change between modes in Blender 3D.

The Human Generator Add-On creates realistic human characters inside of Blender. It comes with a library of basic human meshes and each part of the character can be endlessly customized to create a unique 3D character in Blender.
🔥 Get Human Generator: blendermarket.com/products/humgen3d/?ref=422
As an affiliate of Human Generator, I earn a commission if you use this link to purchase and it's appreciated. Thank you!
The Human Generator add-on for Blender comes with several base packages of hair, clothes, poses and expressions. The characters are created right inside the Blender 3D viewport and are already rigged! We can adjust the character's hair color & length, skin, proportions and so much more. You can assign shape keys in Human Generator for animating the character.
Looking for "How to Make a Realistic Character in Blender?" Look no farther..
The characters made with Human Generator have highly realistic skin materials which look great in Eevee or in Cycles. I've been using the Human Generator addon for years to make my own custom characters.
Per the licensing, you can't sell the models you create in Human Generator but you can use them for commercial projects. Human Generator is one of my favorite Blender add-ons.

You've probably heard the terms "Node" and "Shader" used interchangeably in Blender. This quick video explains what nodes are and what shaders are. All shaders are nodes but not all nodes are shaders. We will also explain the differences between the Mix Node and the Mix Shader Node in the Blender 3D Shader Editor.

In Blender, Bloom used to be in the render settings when Eevee was selected as the render engine. With the release of Blender 4.2 in 2024, it is no longer there. Now we must use Bloom in the compositor. Fortunately, with realtime compositing we can still see the bloom in the 3D viewport.

To add Bloom in Blender 4.2 we go to the compositor and add a glare node. We can choose the type of glare and one of the options in "Bloom." We can also turn on the realtime compositing to see the bloom effect in the 3D viewport.
Bloom is a non-realistic glow effect around emissive and bright parts of a scene.

In this Blender tutorial, we will create a material with one texture on the front and a different texture on the back. The two-sided material will show one of the materials on the front of every face of an object it's applied to and a second material on the back side of each face.
We will create the double-sided material using two materials and mixing them together with a Mix Shader Node. Then we'll use the Geometry Node to tell the Mix Shader to put one shader on the front and one on the back.

In Blender 4.2 the "Import Images as Planes" addon was fully incorporated into Blender so there is no longer a need for the plugin. But, the labeling changed slightly and this Blender tutorial will show you how to Import Images as Planes in a Blender scene without the addon.
Importing Images as Planes is a great tool in Blender. It allows you to bring an image into a scene as a flat plane that is perfectly proportional to the image's aspect ratio. There are three methods of shading the imported image and we will also cover those in this quick Blender tip video.

The mist pass is a render pass that can be activated and adjusted. In post-processing, the mist pass can be used to mix colors into a render. The mist pass is a gradient based on distance from the camera. This allows us to mix in fog or mist based on distance from the camera. The mist pass in Blender can make some awesome effects, but it needs to be set up BEFORE the render. This Blender tutorial will teach you everything you need to know about how to use the mist pass in Blender 3D.

Here's a Blender shading tutorial for how to add grunge onto any material using an image. We can use almost any image and mix darker parts (or lighter parts) onto the base material using a Mix Node. We will also cover how to have the image texture affect the roughness of the underlying material so we can make the grunge appear wet or less reflective. We will also learn how to use a second UV map to control the grunge independently of the base material. With one image texture we can add infinite combinations of grunge to our materials in Blender.

Collections are groups of objects in Blender. Collections can be used for organization but also many other things in Blender. This video shows how to use collection instances. An instance is a copy of something in Blender. Adding a "Collection Instance" brings in a copy of an entire collection to the scene as a single object. This is much more efficient on memory and can allow for bigger scenes with less chance of crashing. Here's how collection instances work and how to add them in Blender 3D

In this quick Blender tutorial, we will learn how to give a material a custom viewport display color. By default, all materials are white in solid mode. It's nice to be able to see which materials are where in a scene - even in solid mode.
We can do this individually for each material with a simple setting in the material properties panel. Different materials can display as different colors in the viewport while in Object Mode. We can even make the colors metallic and adjust its roughness.

In some cases, this can help reduce the density and complexity of your mesh objects in Blender. This quick Blender tutorial will show us how to un-subdivide a mesh.

This Blender tutorial will show us how to use constraints to limit the rotation of an object in Blender. We will use the Pivot Constraint and the Limit Rotation Constraint to make a door act like a real-world door. This modeling and animation tutorial is about using constraints to limit the movement of an object in Blender.
The pivot constraint locks the pivot point of an object even when the pivot point option is changed. If you want to lock the pivot point of an object, this mechanical rigging tutorial is what you're looking for.
We will cover a few other tricks, like how to lock the rotation and location of an object in Blender. We will also talk about drivers and a few other tips.
The second part of this tutorial is how to use a driver to control the rotation of the door with another object's location. That tutorial is available to all Patreon members here: patreon.com/BrandonsDrawings

In Blender, there are basically two ways to "shade" a surface. Smooth shading is what we want for rounded surfaces, but "Shade flat" or "Shade sharp" is what we want for flat surfaces and sharp edges. Not long ago, Blender introduced "Shade Auto Smooth" which automatically smooths edges based on their angles. This results in the best of both worlds and saves a lot of time. You should almost always use "Shade Auto Smooth" in my opinion.
