My part in Sunset Tea Cup by Blizzard and more!
updated
0:00 - Holography
Right at the start of 2.2 I had a plan to make early 2.2 slop to try and capitalize off the rate standards being so low just to see if I could get creator points but then I got too lazy to make it remotely presentable, let alone finish it. Please do not take this one seriously it's genuinely so bad lmao.
1:07 - Wailord Rave II
This was a Team BAW collab that never really saw the light of day. It was meant to be a quick early 2.2 collab, but then as the update went on and it wasn't done we kind of lost motivation because it kind of defeated the purpose. This was actually going to be a collab where we tried to decorate too.
1:26 - Chaeri
Started making a solo to this as part of a layout album to Mercurial World with Happy but motivation died out and also I felt so much pressure to do this song justice that nothing I made felt good enough
2:15 - Summit
Was part of a DLHQ collab but lost motivation because they wanted it to be extreme and I could not think of a way in hell to buff this without making it so incredibly bad
2:26 - One Night In Tokyo
Latko asked if I wanted to be apart of a collab to this song and I said yes but then ran out of motivation and stopped :(. Had some good ideas but also its a bit messy
3:00 - Bodys
This was meant to be my next big solo. I planned on building to the entire 6 minute song and granted I made it farther than I expected. In retrospect I think I am only truly happy with the first drop section (which genuinely I think turned out super super cool). Theres also a lot of offscreen gameplay because I intended on fixing it later with camera offsets. The last drop I started doesnt even work properly yet because I was still in the process of making it, the idea was the have a ship straight flying through the middle of a cube being hit up and down by the slopes, and I think at one point it sort of worked but I could not get it to even once on this showcase.
6:32 - Burbank House
Honestly not a bad start. Probably could have tweaked this and continued it but I just didn't for whatever reason.
6:43 - Earfquake
I think I hit a nice vibe at the start but I dont really like the gameplay in the main verse at all in retrospect. I could maybe see myself continuing this but overhauling that section if I picked it back up
7:25 - Psychoboost
Just kinda built this for fun. Had some cool ideas here and there but it kinda just turned out to be speedcore slop by the end. Those ball clicks with the camera gimmick are fire though.
7:53 - Payphone
Genuinely only made this as a gag to make Blizzard laugh and it turned out kinda cool until I tried extending it a little and made it bad. Highkey though this dual changed how my brain functioned when making gameplay and was a lowkey turning point in my dual gameplay though which is crazy.
8:12 - Don't rely on other men
Just made this to see what I could do with it. Had some vague ideas in my head and none of them translated as well into the editor as I had hoped. Oh well.
Really looking forward to seeing this level once its all done and released :)
Full Team BAW meetup vlog hopefully coming soonish on this channel, just need to get all the clips together and edit it together :)
This level sucks so bad, the ufo feels so incredibly janky and the balancing of this level just feels so annoying. I finally completed the trilogy though, woohoo
Song: Stellarium by Snail's House
I will say though that this layout definitely isn't playtested very well, with the worst offender being that the buildup teleport gimmick is desynced on most of the spider clicks. I feel like most of the issues with this level could be fixed in like an hour though, and they mostly come down to Quitora probably never really planning on people playing this.
As far as I can tell I am the first person to beat this in 4 years so thats cool lol.

This part was made for the Team BAW collab Sunset Tea Cup all the way back in 2020, and this part has always been really important to me. Not only was this the first piece of gameplay that I think crossed into the "good era" of my gameplay and still absolutely stood the test of time, but also because it was the first collab part I made in Team BAW, which would later cement itself as one of my most long running and tight knit friend groups I've ever had.
At the end of 2.2 we decided to make Definitive Editions of the Team BAW levels, and I wanted to resize the portals in my part, as that was the only flaw that I really feel made the gameplay seem so sloppy and dated. However my friends were reluctant to want to make the change as it seemed revisionist or and that it would lose some of its amateurish charm, which I do get to some extent.
I decided I still wanted to see how the part would look with resized portals and so here we go. I officially gentrified the part. This isn't apart of any official version of the level or even on the servers whatsoever, but I made it anyways.
Can't believe I wrote a long description for a portal resizing of a 2020 layout collab part that took me like 20 minutes.
I am playing the solo parts and top half, while she is playing the bottom half.
Last upload of 2024! See you guys in the new year
Also wtf this is a creo song? I was playing the level and thinking holy shit this song is awesome and then I found it it was by creo lmao. Might actually build to this in the future

Hopefully this is a sign that I am nearing the end :)

Well I managed to get a new solo out! I initially started this as part of a layout contest done just among my friends for fun, but I wasn't able to fully finish it. I only finished the base gameplay, and then didn't even begin to structure it for 3 months.
Now that it's finally out, I really couldn't be much happier. I think I did a pretty great job with the cameras for the most part. I will say though that the drop gameplay did end up a bit jankier than I wanted it to be, but it still visually is everything I wanted it to be. Maybe I can sort it out in time though.
This time around they decided to do something a little more special. Using 2.2 song triggers they decided to make a mix of a bunch of different songs/artists that they know I enjoy all into one compilation level, and I absolutely love how it came out. Theres so much goofiness to it along with just genuinely phenomenal gameplay that this level just absolutely made my day seeing it for the first time.
0:00 Intro
This is such a funny way to open the level up, but most people won't really understand why its funny. Basically it opens with a copy of Blizzard's opening in his recent layout Jungle (the song is Law of The Jungle by Boom Kitty), which we made countless jokes about when I had them over at my house this summer. However it cut to say "This... is- KneeVan", and that clip of KneeVan is from a suuuuuuper old ditty.it song that an old friend Gangum made ages ago called KneeVan is One Thicc Bih. Those two things combined absolutely cracked me up and definitely set things up super well.
0:09 Weezer - Buddy Holly (Overgrowth's Part)
I have to say, opening with Buddy Holly is absolutely hilarious. I've always had a soft spot for Weezer Blue Album, and the guitar riff is absolutely iconic, so it does not surprise me one bit that this was the song Overgrowth decided to go with. Also the clicks to the guitar riff actually sync perfectly and it makes me giggle seeing the happy birthday text at the bottom with it, really good opener.
0:33 Charli XCX - Von Dutch (Seb's Part)
As with a lot of people, I got into Charli XCX this summer with the release of her new album Brat, and Von Dutch is one of my favorite tracks off it. Seb is absolutely the person I would expect to build to Charli if anyone because Seb and I both have been listening to a fair amount of her music lately. This part is super consistent and just really well polished, deadass I could see this being a really good hard demon if it was made to the whole thing.
0:49 Sewerslvt - Dissociating (rSteel's part)
Sewerslvt's last album We Had Good Times Together, Don't Forget That, has been one of my favorite albums for a few years now despite how embarassing that sounds at face value lmao.Dissociating is one of my favorite songs off that album and was absolutely the best pick for a collab part of all her songs imo. The song spends a majority of its run time simply building up, and it really takes its time in the best way possible. The pure melancholic bliss I feel listening to this song hits me in a super specific way that I have trouble describing that I haven't really found in many other songs. I have had thoughts about building to this song before actually but never really knew how I would pull it off.
I have to say, rSteel absolutely nailed every single aspect of this part. One problem I have had when brainstorming ideas for this song is I don't know to what extent I would represent the constant chaoticness of the background, while also not overdoing it and conveying the flowy gentleness of the song. He solved this problem in a super creative why by putting the icons in a dual and having one of them constantly hitting pads to represent the music while having the main gameplay be a slow ship. Not to mention all the creative gimmicks like the wall of cube portals, and moving into them in time with the dings in the song. Absolutely genius stuff here and it honestly makes me jealous that I couldn't do the song justice in the way he did.
1:14 Porter Robinson - Sad Machine (Blaze's Part)
Blaze showing up for these collabs is always really special to me, because although we don't talk as much as we used to, I still have a ton of respect for Blaze, with him being one of the first real friends I made in the community, and having known him since 2017. Blaze if you're reading this, thanks for being apart of my birthday collabs two years in a row :)
This part is super cool with it Blaze showing off his really well developed structuring style, with really fun ship gameplay that doesnt feel like its just reliant on 100% orb clicks like mine tend to be. Also the fade out with the music showing all the hearts and cutting to the cube on the platform, it gives me chills every time. Really well done on this part.
Also side note, it starts with Code Red by Dr. Phonics, which was done by Blaze just on his own not even knowing that my friends and I randomly play that section of the song as a gag around each other lmao.

Anyways, MAN this level fucking hurt towards the end. I honestly had a pretty good time learning this level, but the balancing just makes this a completely different beast from 0. The first 2 waves absolutely carry the difficulty, yet this level still manages to have such chokable shit in the 2nd half. Even the D-Block wave which was the easiest wave by far still managed to get so many stupid deaths out of me due to the visuals making it really hard to focus when you are nervous. My worst death was 79, so thankfully I didn't die at the ending. It isn't a very difficult ending, but it's also easy to die at if you aren't focused. I got 24-100 2 times before beating the level
Final attempt count: 48,631
I'd say this is definitely easier than Neutra, but its probably honestly pretty close. New 2nd hardest and my first time having two main lists at once!
I used to hate this level but lowkey its kinda sick as fuck.

Feels good to release what is my first bigger project in 2.2! This ended up taking a lot longer than it really needed to, which was mainly due to the fact partway through building this I ended up having a severe creative block, and wasn't satisfied with anything I was making. This also kind of resulted in a bigger style shift partway through as I was pushing myself to get better, which I think you can see the difference by my first part and my last part of the collab. All things considered, I am very happy with this level. Big thanks to Happy for being apart of this :)
If you see that this got reuploaded a minute later its because I realized it was too quiet don't yell at me

This level is genuinely amazing, one of the best extremes in the game. Could not recommend it more.
I had some hiccups with this level, I got insanely mindblocked at the wave at 31% and absolutely hated playing this for a while for that reason. Once the mindblock cleared up however the level instantly became really fun and it didn't take me long to beat it.
I'm just gonna assume the 31% thing was a me issue, and put that aside for now. This is one of my favorite extreme demons in the game. The song is amazing and the level compliments it perfectly imo with a rare instance of super high intensity cps gameplay that you don't see done to this level.
Attempts idk because I lost a lot
It did get changed in a couple ways in the final version of the level that I'm not 100% happy with so my showcase of this part is the one from pre-merging.
This level is decent, but also nothing that special.

Hoping this is the beginning of the upswing, the past month has been a mixture of being hardstuck in consistency and also not having as much time to play as I'd like, so I am hoping this marks the beginning of more frequent progress.

Coming back to this nowadays, it's honestly pretty easy for me, I did this in like, an hour? Which is wild seeing how far I have come as a player.
I made this completion as accurate as it could be for how I used to play at the time so that it's an equal achievement. 2.1, 60hz, no vsync, no zero delay.
Maybe one day I'll finally go finish Missing Benefits on 60hz. We'll see.
This was actually top 1 worthy when it was verified which to me makes this level all the more interesting. Honestly a super cool achievement to have under my belt.
New 4th hardest completion!

This level is really charming, specifically the part at 74 just feels magical to play from 0. I just love levels that are ameturish but filled with passion.

about 56k attempts in so far
Yes its in practice mode but also I dont care since I didnt use any checkpoints and didnt even know it was on. It counts
Also I lost the clip for room 3 checkpoint 1 so whoops
Okay time for my thoughts, this level fucking SUCKS. I spent 4 hours in game over the course of 6 hours real life and this level was actually awful. Rooms 1 and 5 are the worst, with checkpoint 1 of room 5 being the most horrible thing I have ever experienced (notice the time jump between that and the one before it in the video). This was not worth it in the slightest, but hey its done now. By far the most miserable ive felt on any completion in the last few years
I think this deserves the extreme demon rating TBH

Wish me luck!
When going for Bloodlust, I was hoping to have that as my absolute cap to 2.1, but here I am a little over a month later and I've ALREADY topped myself. I am incredibly proud of myself.
This level is many accomplishments in one for me. This is the highest placed demon on the list I have ever beaten to date, my first entry into the top 50. It also will be the level that finally pushes me into the top 1000 for the first time since maybe 2019.
This also breaks a new record of most attempts I've spent on a single level, sitting at a whopping 51,871
This level is absolutely brutal. From the moment I picked it up I knew this was in an entirely different category of difficulty from Bloodlust. The predrop is absolutely brutal, and by far the hardest part of the level imo. The wave at 10% and the two clicks before it carry so much of the difficulty when playing this level from zero, and even when you do that, the timings before the drop are still fucking hard. Especially with that double input forcing me to have to keep my hand in an unnatural resting position just to be ready to hit it.
The dual wave at the drop took absolutely forever to get consistent at. I didn't know what the fuck I was doing until maybe an hour before I finally beat it. It was a constant battle of just feeling like my muscle memory getting arbitrarily thrown off, simply because when you first learn it you have 0 clue what the fuck you are doing and just try to replicate a vague click pattern.
The wave at 37% took forever for me to get consistent at, despite generally being considered one of the easier parts of the level. So much of it feels it requires a lot of patience and thought in your inputs, especially not clicking too early jittering through that gap at 40.
The dual ship at 51% is super consistent, other than the first input which I constantly found myself clicking either too early or too late. It honestly felt like a gamble
I was somehow amazingly consistent at the 58% UFO, despite it honestly being probably the hardest part of drop imo. The timings in this part are brutal, but completely fair. Very satisfying to pull off.
The spider dual honestly wasn't too hard but I just died to it a few times because I am a tad stupid.
I died at 70% 5x before fluking, those two wave clicks are way harder than they appear.
The last cube before the post drop is FILLED with incredibly hard timings, mainly the orange orb into the green orb being SUPER hard to get good at. I am very lucky to have not died here.
Now, the infamous 80-100. While I don't think its harder than the predrop, its still easily the 2nd hardest part of the level imo. It seems crazy that I fluked all this, but in all honesty I overpracticed this section of the level a SHIT ton, to where I even said a few days ago that if I got here I had a 1/3 chance of beating it. Still an incredible achievement to have not died here. Almost every input except for a few are incredibly difficult, with the wave being the nastiest before the ship imo. Then you get to the infamous ship, which has some INSANE momentum based difficulty. The first two inputs, one being a release timing, are so fucking hard to get good at, and I would die here over and over and over again in runs. Then beyond that you have to basically find weird tricks to help yourself get the momentum to not hit corners of blocks. 92 is a massive chokepoint here that honestly is a bit of a cointoss.
While I think this level's deco is amazing, and every individual gameplay section is fun, I do wish this level was balanced better. It was a bit rough on me grinding for hours and only getting to the drop a handful of times. If that blue orb click before the drop was nerfed on its own, the predrop would already be 10x more consistent. Despite this though I still ultimately had a pretty good time with this level, and would recommend it as long as you keep these things in mind.
GG, next on my radar is Edge of Destiny :)

Probably the most densly difficult gameplay ive done in an extreme, this shit is impossible
Song: Get Your Wish by Porter Robinson
Completion botted to avoid auto music sync shenanigans.
Thanks to Happy for playtesting!
Quite honestly, I'm not even entirely sure what to say. I started this layout all the way back in early june, and since then it underwent many changes.
I always wanted to build an XXL solo layout, and I had a ton of ideas for this song, so I wanted to make it as great as it possibly could be. So many parts of this layout essentially got completely overhauled at some point along the way (with the entire first minute of gameplay being hardly recognizeable from its original version).
By the time I had originally built everything up to the slow drop of the song, I was already running out of steam and inspiration. This sat on the backburner for months, where I still intended on finishing it, just didn't have much drive.
Then the 2.2 release date got announced.
All of a sudden I was in a rush to do the last things I wanted to do before the update. First this meant Bloodlust, which I expected to be my last big sendoff for the update. However, I managed to beat it sooner than I expected.
Thanks to the encouragement of some friends, I decided I was going to try and get one last layout done before 2.1, and it was going to be Get Your Wish. With over 2 minutes of gameplay still yet to be made, and no structures done, I knew I was going to absolutely have to haul ass to get this done before 2.2.
I put myself through hell trying to finish this thing. For basically 2 weeks straight I would spend hours of my day doing nothing but building this level, with the vast majority of that time spent just doing the monotonous boring task of structuring. I think any of my friends can attest to just how emotionally taxxing this was on me with the looming deadling of 2.2 potentially releasing any day. Quite honestly, I was miserable for a lot of the time making this. If it weren't for my friends to keep me sane I wouldn't have made it through
This level represents everything I have come to be as a creator. This is me pushing myself to my absolute limit and pouring my entire heart and soul into one project. This level in a sense almost feels like a part of me at this point, with it doubling as a send off to the update of Geometry Dash which shaped the last several years of my life. Even beyond that however, this process showed me that when it comes down to it, I am capable of buckling down and putting in work with enough dedication. This was the most disciplined I had to be quite possibly ever in any project, in or out of geometry dash, and it took a lot out of it, but in the end I came through and got it done. I could not be more proud of myself.
Now that I am finally a good gameplay creator I can't wait for that to be reset in 2.2 and start making some garbage again.
I know this is a lengthy description for just a layout to a Porter Robinson song, but I do not care
I hope you enjoy :)
Difficulty is either high end insane or entry extreme. None of the gameplay is particularly hard, but its long and takes a bit to learn.

Like everyone else who was playing this game during 2018, I remember the day Knobbelboy finally verified this, and just being in awe that a level like this was even possible. Never in a million years did I think I would be capable of doing a level of this caliber.
It genuinely means so much to me that even after all these years I have been able to keep up and managed to get a main list in 2023. Glad to be able crank out one last new hardest before 2.2
Shoutout to Happy beating this a while back and generally being a huge motivating factor in me seeing this level as doable.

I'm really proud of how this came out
