Crochet Topper (Easy) Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium weight

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 8 SC inside MC. SL st in 1st SC to join.
Row 2: CH 1 and place 2 SC in each st in the row. SL st in 1st SC to join (16 total SC st).
Cut and tie off yarn.
Draw tails to the center of the topper.
Insert crochet hook inside MC, draw the stuffed ornament top loops through this hole.
Hide the tails inside the stuffed ornament base, between the stuffing and the crocheted portion.

Crochet Topper (Striped) Pattern
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium weight

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 8 SC inside MC. SL st in 1st SC to join.
Row 2: CH 1 and place 2 SC in each st in the row. SL st in 1st SC to join (16 total SC st).
CH 29, then skip 7 st and in the 8th place 1 SL st. Place 1 SL st in the next 2 st.
Pull crochet hook out of the loop.
Insert crochet hook inside MC, draw the stuffed ornament top loops through this hole.
Hide the tails inside the stuffed ornament base, between the stuffing and the crocheted portion.
Pull the strap that you just created around the ornament so that it crosses the bottom point directly opposite from your loop.
Adjust the number of CH st if necessary.
CH 29, then skip 7 st and in the 8th place 1 SL st. Place 1 SL st in the next 2 st.
CH 29, then skip 7 st and in the 8th place 1 SL st. Place 1 SL st in the next 2 st.
CH 29, then skip 7 st and in the 8th place 1 SL st. Place 1 SL st in the next 2 st.
Cut and tie off yarn.
Hide tails inside the ornament base.
Adjust stripes so that they are even.

Crochet Topper (Beaded) Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium weight
Also need beads and a crochet hook that is small enough to fit inside the center of the beads.

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 8 SC inside MC. SL st in 1st SC to join.
Row 2: CH 1 and place 2 SC in each st in the row. SL st in 1st SC to join (16 total SC st).
CH 29, then skip 7 st and in the 8th place 1 SL st. Place 1 SL st in the next 2 st.
Pull crochet hook out of the loop.
Insert crochet hook inside MC, draw the stuffed ornament top loops through this hole.
Hide the tails inside the stuffed ornament base, between the stuffing and the crocheted portion.
Pull the strap that you just created around the ornament so that it crosses the bottom point directly opposite from your loop.
Adjust the number of CH st if necessary.
CH 3, then pull the crochet hook out of its loop. Insert tiny crochet hook through the bead, then draw the working yarn loop through the center of the bead. Re-insert the crochet hook in the yarn loop and CH 3. Repeat the process of attaching the bead, then CH 3 until your strand is long enough to reach around the ornament, for me this was 7 beads. End with a CH 3, not a bead.
Skip 7 st and place 1 SL st in the 8th (should be directly across the circle from where the strap begins). Place 1 SL st in the next 2 st.
CH 29, then skip 7 st and in the 8th place 1 SL st. Place 1 SL st in the next 2 st.
**CH 3, attach a bead, CH 3, attach a bead.** until you reach around the ornament, this was 7 beads for me. Skip the next 7 st and place 1 SL st in the 8th.
Cut and tie off yarn, drawing the tails to the inside of the stuffed ornament.
Adjust the stripes as necessary so they are even.

Crochet Photo Bauble Pattern:
Crochet Hook; G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium Weight Yarn (3 Colors)

Base:
Attach Color A to the crochet hook using a Magic Circle.
Row 1: CH 2 and place 12 DC inside MC. SL st in 1st DC to join (12 total DC).
*Crochet over the starting tail the next few rows.*
Row 2: CH 2, then place 2 DC in each st in the row, starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st in 1st DC to join (24 total DC st).
Row 3: CH 2, then place 1 DC in the current st and 2 DC in the following st. Alternate between 1 and 2 DC going around the row, until you reach the end of the row. In the last st, place 1 DC instead of 2, and make sure you don’t accidentally work in the SL st at the end of the row (35 total DC st).
Row 4: CH 2, then working in the FRONT LOOP ONLY, place 1 DC in the current st. Place 1 DC in the FLO of the next 4 st (5 total), then switch to placing 1 DC in the full st for the remainder of the row. Make sure you skip your SL st and CH 2 at the end of the row, then SL st into the 1st DC to join.
Cut and tie off yarn. Hide tails in the direction you were crocheting.

Topper:
Attach Color B yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: Insert the crochet hook in the BACK LOOP ONLY from the 1st DC in Row 4. Place 1 SC here, then place 1 SC in the BLO of the next 4 st. CH 1, turn work (5 total SC).
Row 2: Skip the turning CH st, then place 1 SC in each st in the row (5 total SC). DO NOT CH 1, but turn your work.
Row 3: Place 1 SC in the 1st SC st, then CH 15 and place 1 SC in the last st from Row 2 (this should create a handle).
Cut and tie off yarn.
Hide starting and ending tails on the backside of the project, focusing on hiding these in the same color.

Base (Adding Additional Color)
Attach Color C yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Turn the last row of stitches up from Row 4 of the base. Working around TWO POSTS at a time, place 1 FRONT POST st. Repeat this process going around the row, and treat the CH 2 from row 4 like it is a DC. SL st in the 1st FRONT POST st to join (18 total FRONT POST st).
Hide the starting and ending tails in opposite directions in your last row of stitches with the same color.

Crocheted Pompon (Medium) Pattern:
Crochet Hook; G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium Weight Wool Yarn by Cascade Yarns (White)
2 Cotton Balls
1 Stitch Marker

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC). Use the starting tail as stuffing (don’t crochet over it).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 8 SC inside the MC.
Row 2: Starting in 1st SC st, place 2 SC in each st in the row - this will create a spiral pattern, so make sure you mark the 1st st (16 total st).
Row 3: Place 1 SC in 1st st, 2 SC in 2nd st. Continue this alternating pattern around the row (24 total st).
Rows 4 - 5: Place 1 SC in each st in the row (24 total st).
Row 6: Place 1 SC in st 1, and SC 2together in the next 2 stitches. Repeat this alternating pattern around the row (16 total st).
*Stuff 1 cotton ball before continuing).*
Row 7: SC 2together around the row (8 total st).
Cut an 8-inch tail, then tie it off.
*Stuff the second cotton ball by separating it and filling any gaps*
Weave the tail in and out of the last row of SC st, then pull the tail tightly to cinch up the hole in the top. Use an available loop near the top to tie off the cinch.
Attach to a beanie using the tail.

Elf Beanie Crochet Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: 4 Medium (I am working with Cascade Yarns 100% Wool)
Need also a safety pin or stitch marker

BRIM:
Attach Color A yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 16, turn.
Row 2: Working in the BACK BUMP of each st, place 1 HDC SL st. (16 total st). CH 1, turn.
Row 3: Skip turning CH, then place 1 HDC SL st in each BLO (16 total st). CH 1, turn.
Rows 4 - End: Repeat Row 3 until the brim reaches 16-20 inches (depending on the size of the head of the person you are making this for). Make sure you end your last row so that your crochet hook is on the opposite side of the brim from your starting tail.
Fold so that short edges are together and place SL st in the corresponding stitches to join.
Fold brim in half length-wise and section it off into four parts.
Secure the loop on your crochet hook with a safety pin or stitch marker.

**Make sure for the entire pattern that you aren’t accidentally working in the SL st at the end of the row or the joining CH stitches as this will cause your pattern to slowly increase**

BODY:
Attach Color B yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: Starting in the available loops near the starting tail, working in BOTH sides of the brim, place 1 SC + CH st. Spacing your stitches as evenly as you can, place 20 DC stitches in each of the four sections of your brim (the SC + CH 1 st doesn’t count). SL st in 1st DC st to join.
Row 2: CH 2, working back in current st, place 1 DC, then place 1 DC in each st in the row (80 total DC st). SL st in 1st DC st to join.
Trade out your crochet hook and st marker, preserving Color B yarn loop and working in Color A yarn now. Make sure that you are working on the INSIDE of the beanie, then CH 4.
Row 3: Place 1 SL st in the current st where you already placed the SL st in the previous row. CH 2, then place 1 DC back in the current st. Place 1 DC in each st in the row (80 total DC st). SL st in 1st DC st to join.
Row 4: CH 1, then working around 1st DC st, place 1 BACK POST st. Place 1 BACK POST st around each st in the row, make sure you skip the CH 2 at the end of the row (80 total BACK POST st). SL st in 1st BACK POST to join.
Trade out your crochet hook and st marker, preserving Color A yarn loop and working in Color B yarn now. Make sure that you are working on the INSIDE of the beanie, then CH 3.
Row 5: Place 1 SL st in the current st where you already placed the SL st in the previous row. CH 2, then place 1 DC back in the current st. Place 1 DC in each st in the row (80 total DC st). SL st in 1st DC st to join.
Row 6: CH 2, working back in current st, place 1 DC, then place 1 DC in each st in the row. Place 1 SL st in back of the current st to join.
Rows 7 - 18: Repeat Rows 3 - 6.
Row 19: Make sure you are working in Color A yarn and have chained 4. Place 1 SL st in the current st where you already placed a SL st in the previous row. Place 1 DC back in current st, then place 1 DC in the next 39 st (40 total DC st). Fold beanie so you can join with the 1st DC st to create a small, half circle. Place 1 SL st in the 1st DC to join.
Row 20: CH 2, place 1 BACK POST st around the 1st DC st, then 1 BACK POST st in each st in the row (40 total BACK POST st).
Trade out your crochet hook and st marker, preserving Color A yarn loop and working in Color B yarn now. Make sure that you are working on the INSIDE of the beanie, then CH 3.

Wine Cozy:
**Use a st marker or scrap piece of yarn to mark the 1st st in each row**
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 8 SC inside the MC.
Row 2: Skip CH 1 and starting in 1st SC st, place 2 SC in each st in the row (make sure you mark the first of these stitches, as this is a spiral pattern) (16 total SC st).
Row 3: Place **1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2.** Repeat ** around the row (24 total SC st).
Row 4: Place **1 SC in st 1 - 2, and 2 SC in st 3.** Repeat ** around the row (32 total SC st).
Row 5: Place 1 SC in the BACK LOOP ONLY (BLO) of each st in the row.
Rows 6 - 44: Place 1 SC in each st in the row.
Place 1 SL st in the next st, then cut yarn, insert crochet hook in the following st, and yarn over and pull yarn all the way through to tie it off. Do not hide the tail as we will use it to attach the nose and beard.

Hat:
**Use a st marker or scrap piece of yarn to mark the 1st st in each row**
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 5 SC inside the MC.
Row 2: Skip CH 1 and place 2 SC in st 1, from here we want to place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 other st where we want to place 2 SC. I try to space out the two increasing stitches (7 total SC st).
Row 3: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 st where you will place 2 st. Try to make sure that you are randomizing where you place this increasing st. You don’t want to place an increasing st in the same st as the previous row, as this will make the hat start to tilt (8 total SC).
Row 4: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 2 st where you will place 2 st (10 SC st).
Row 5: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 st where you will place 2 st (11 SC st).
Row 6: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 2 st where you will place 2 st (13 SC st).
Row 7: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 st where you will place 2 st (14 SC st).
Row 7: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 2 st where you will place 2 st (16 SC st).
Row 8: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 st where you will place 2 st (17 SC st).
Row 9: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 2 st where you will place 2 st (19 SC st).
Row 10: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 st where you will place 2 st (20 SC st).

Row 14: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 st where you will place 2 st (26 SC st).
Row 15: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 2 st where you will place 2 st (28 SC st).
Row 16: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 st where you will place 2 st (29 SC st).
Row 17: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 2 st where you will place 2 st (31 SC st).
Row 18: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 1 st where you will place 2 st (32 SC st).
Row 19: Place 1 SC in each st in the row EXCEPT 2 st where you will place 2 st (34 SC st).
Rows 20 - 23: Place 1 SC in each st in the row.
Cut yarn, insert crochet hook in the next st, yarn over and pull all the way through to tie off yarn.
Row 24: Attach brim color to crochet hook using a slip knot and insert the crochet hook in the same st where you just inserted your crochet hook to tie off your yarn. Place 1 SC here and in each st in the row. Place 1 SL st in the 1st SC to join at the end of the row.
Row 25: CH 1, working back in the same st where you placed the SL st, place 1 SC, then place 1 SC in each st in the row. Skip the SL st and CH 1 at the end of the row, and place 1 SL st in the 1st SC to join.
Cut and tie off yarn.

Mitten Ornament Crochet Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium Weight *I am working with the Lion Brand Yarn’s Re-Up 100% Recycled Cotton & Polyester Blend Yarn

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 24. SL st into 1st CH st to create a loop.
Row 2: CH 1, then place 24 SC stitches OVER the CH loop to create a nice edge. Place 1 SC in the SL st at the end of the row (25 total SC st).
Rows 3 - 6: Starting in the 1st SC st, place 1 SC in each st in the row (this will create a spiral pattern)
Row 7: **Place 1 SC in the BLO of the next 4 st, then place 2 SC in the BLO of the 5th st.** Repeat * around the row (30 total SC st). Mark the 1st st of the row so you know where to stop.
Rows 8 - 10: Place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row, continuing to follow the spiral pattern.
Row 11: Place 1 SC in the BLO of the first 12 st, then skip 8 st, and place 1 SC in the BLO of the remaining st in the row.
Rows 12 - 17: Now working in the small circle you created in Row 10, place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row.
Row 18: **Place 1 SC in the BLO of the 1st st, then SC 2together in the BLO of the next 2 st.** Repeat around the row (15 total st).
Row 19: SC 2together around the row (8 total st).
Cut and tie off yarn, leaving a long tail. Weave the tail in and out of the last row of st. Cinch tail and tie off the cinch. Hide the tail on the inside of the mitten.

Thumb:
Row 1: Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot. Insert the crochet hook in the BLO of the 1st st you skipped in Row 10 above. Place 1 SC here, then place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in each of the skipped stitches from Row 11.
Row 2: Place I SL st in the 1st SC to join. Working back in the same st, place 1 SC in the BLO, then place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row going around and working over the SL st to create another spiral pattern.
Rows 3 - 4 : Place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row.
Cut and tie off yarn. Weave the tail around the last row of stitches and pull it tightly to cinch the top. Tie off the cinch. Hide the tail on the inside of the mitten.

Attach Color A yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 2 and place 12 DC inside MC. SL st in 1st DC to join (12 total DC st).
Row 2: CH 2, place 2 DC in each st in the row, including current st where you have already placed the SL st. At the end of the row, skip the SL st and CH 2, and place 1 SL st in the 1st DC st to join (24 total DC st).

How to Crochet LARGE Beanie

Crochet With Julie 2023-10-28 | How to crochet a LARGE BEANIE! ▶ In this easy crochet tutorial, I show you how to crochet a beanie that is ideal for someone with a large head or who has a lot of hair. The double-brim is ideal for cold temperatures, and the SC crisscross stitch adds depth and extra warmth.

The David Beanie Crochet Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4 Medium Weight (Wool), Cascade Yarns

Attach Color A (Brim) yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 32, turn.
Row 2: Working in each of the BACK BUMPS (or 3rd loop in back), place 1 LOOSE SL st in each st (32 total SL st). CH 1, turn.
Row 3: Skip the turning CH st, then place 1 SL st the BACK LOOP ONLY (BLO) of each st in the row (32 total SL st). CH 1, turn.
Rows 4 - ?: Repeat the last row until your brim reaches a width of roughly 22 inches.
Fold the two short ends together, and make sure your crochet hook is on the opposite side as your starting tail. CH 1 at the end of your last row, and then insert your crochet hook under BOTH LOOPS of your last SL st, then in the last CH st from ROW 1. Make sure you are working under BOTH LOOPS on both sides of your brim, then yarn over and drop all the loops on your crochet hook for a SL st. Repeat this process working up the edge of your brim, joining the two sides with SL st.
Cut and tie off yarn once the short edges are joined.
Turn brim right-side out so that the seam is on the inside.
Using stitch markers (safety pins and scrap pieces of yarn can also work), divide the brim into four equal parts.

Crochet Easy Bead Stitch Beanie Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: 4 Medium, Patons 100% Wool Yarn

Crochet a chevron brim to 38 chevron stitches. Join the short edges using SL st (shown in precursor video).

Row 1: Working on the same side of the brim as the tails, CH 2 and start to place 1 BEAD st in each of the “dual loops” at the top of each Chevron st. SL st in the top of the 1st BEAD st to join (40 total BEAD st).
Row 2: CH 2 and turn in the opposite direction. Working in the gap behind current BEAD st, place 1 BEAD st. *Place 1 DC in the top of the next BEAD st, then place 1 BEAD st in the gap behind the current BEAD st.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in the top of the 1st BEAD st (40 total BEAD st).
Rows 3 - 7: Repeat Row 2.
Row 8: CH 2 and turn in the opposite direction. *In BEAD st 1 - 6, place 1 BEAD st, then BEAD st 2together in BEAD st 7 & 8.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in the top of 1st BEAD st (35 total BEAD st).
Row 9: CH 2 and turn in the opposite direction. *In BEAD st 1 - 5, place 1 BEAD st, then BEAD st 2together in BEAD st 6 & 7.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in the top of 1st BEAD st (30 total BEAD st).
Row 10: CH 2 and turn in the opposite direction. *In BEAD st 1 - 4, place 1 BEAD st, then BEAD st 2together in BEAD st 5 & 6.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in the top of 1st BEAD st (25 total BEAD st).
Row 11: CH 2 and turn in the opposite direction. *In BEAD st 1 - 3, place 1 BEAD st, then BEAD st 2together in BEAD st 4 & 5.* Repeat * around the row. SL st in the top of 1st BEAD st (20 total BEAD st).
Row 12: CH 2 and turn in the opposite direction. *BEAD st 2together in first 2 BEAD st, then place 1 regular BEAD st.* Repeat * around the row (12 total BEAD st).
Row 13: CH 2 and turn in the opposite direction. BEAD st 2together around the row. SL st in the top of 1st BEAD st (5 total BEAD st).
Tie off yarn, leaving a long tail (about 1-foot). Weave the tail in and out of the last row of BEAD st. Cinch the tail to close the gap in the top of the beanie, then tie it off again using available loops near the tail.
Pull tail to the inside of the beanie
Attach a yarn or faux fur pom pom.

Yarn: Size 4 Medium Weight Wool Yarn by Cascade Yarns

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 12 DC inside MC.
Row 2: Following a continuous loop (or spiral) pattern, skip the 1st 2 DC st, then place 4 DC st BETWEEN the 2nd & 3rd DC st. Make sure you mark the 1st of the 4 DC to indicate the new row. *Skip the next 2 DC st, then place 4 DC between the 2nd & 3rd st.* Repeat * around the row, making sure to work in the gap between the last st from Row 1 and the 1st st from this current row (24 total DC).
Row 3: Skip the 1st 2 DC st, then place 3 DC st BETWEEN the 2nd & 3rd DC st. Make sure you mark the 1st of the 3 DC to indicate the new row. *Skip the next 2 DC st, then place 3 DC between the 2nd & 3rd st.* Repeat * around the row, making sure to work in the gap between the last st from Row 1 and the 1st st from this current row (36 total DC).
Row 4: Skip the 1st 3 DC st (they should be clumped together), then place 4 DC st BETWEEN the 3rd & 4th DC st. Make sure you mark the 1st of the 4 DC to indicate the new row. *Skip the next 3 DC st, then place 4 DC between the 3rd & 4th DC st.* Repeat * around the row, making sure to work in the gap between the last st from Row 1 and the 1st st from this current row (48 total DC). Keep in mind for this row that you should be working the 4 DC st between the clumps of 3 DC st in the previous row.
Row 5: Skip the 1st 2 DC st, then place 3 DC st BETWEEN the 2nd & 3rd DC st. Make sure you mark the 1st of the 3DC to indicate the new row. *Skip the next 2 DC st, then place 3 DC between the 2nd & 3rd st.* Repeat * around the row, making sure to work in the gap between the last st from Row 1 and the 1st st from this current row (60 total DC).
Row 6: Skip the 1st 3 DC st (they should be clumped together), then place 4 DC st BETWEEN the 3rd & 4th DC st. Make sure you mark the 1st of the 4 DC to indicate the new row. *Skip the next 3 DC st, then place 4 DC between the 3rd & 4th DC st.* Repeat * around the row, making sure to work in the gap between the last st from Row 1 and the 1st st from this current row (72 total DC). Keep in mind for this row that you should be working the 4 DC st between the clumps of 3 DC st in the previous row.
Rows 7 - 17: Skip the 1st 4 st of the row, then place 4 DC st in the gap between the 4th and 5th st (these should be worked in the gaps created in the previous row). *Skip the next 4 st (they should be clumped together), then place 4 DC in the gap between the 4th and 5th st.* Repeat * around the row (72 total st).
Row 18: Skip the 1st 4 st of this row (they should be clumped together), and place 3 DC st in the gap between the 4th and 5th st. *Skip the next 4 st, then place 3 DC in the gap between the 4th and 5th st.* Repeat * around the row (60 total st).
Rows 19 - 25: Working in the top portion of the st (where you would traditionally place a st), place 1 SC in each st in each row, still following the spiral pattern.
Finish off by placing 1 SL st in the next 3 st.
Cut and tie off yarn, hiding tails on the inside of the beanie.

Crochet Wine Sweater Pattern:
Crochet hook: H/8/5.0MM
Yarn: Size 4 (Medium Weight), Lion Brand Yarns Re-Up, Recycled Cotton and Polyester Blend Yarn (Rosewater & Surf Spray)

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 2 and place 12 DC inside the MC.
Row 2: Starting with the 1st DC st from Row 1, place 2 DC in each st in the row (this will create a spiral pattern, where we won’t have to worry about starting or stopping our individual rows). Mark the 1st st of this row with the st marker (24 total DC st). The row ends when you make it back around to the st marker.
Row 3: **1 DC in st 1, 2 DC in st 2.** Repeat ** around the row (36 total DC st).
Row 4: Alternate between placing FRONT and BACK POST stitches going around the row, starting with a FRONT POST st and ending with a BACK POST st (36 total st).
Rows 5 - 9: Continue to follow the alternating pattern of FRONT and BACK POST stitches going around the row, following LIKE stitches in a spiral pattern. This should create vertical ridges. At the end of Row 9, after working in the last FRONT POST st, place 1 SL st around the last BACK POST st of the row (please see video if you need help with this step). Remove crochet hook from the current loop and insert the stitch marker.
Row 10: Attach Color B yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot. Working around the last BACK POST st of the row (where you placed the SL st), place 1 BACK POST st. Then continue the alternating FRONT and BACK POST st pattern around the row.
Rows 11 - 15: Continue to follow the alternating pattern of FRONT and BACK POST stitches going around the row, following LIKE stitches in a spiral pattern. At the end of Row 15, after working in the last FRONT POST st, place 1 SL st around the last BACK POST st of the row. Trade your crochet hook and st marker you placed in Row 9 (now your crochet hook should be in the loop you preserved from Row 9, and the st marker should be in the loop that was on your crochet hook at the end of row 15).
Row 16: CH 7 with Color A yarn (this should draw this color up to your current row). Working in the last BACK POST st (where you placed the SL st at the end of Row 15), place 1 BACK POST st. Follow the alternating pattern of FRONT and BACK POST stitches around the row.
Rows 17 - 21: Continue to follow the alternating pattern of FRONT and BACK POST stitches going around the row, following LIKE stitches in a spiral pattern. At the end of Row 21, after working in the last FRONT POST st, place 1 SL st around the last BACK POST st of the row. Trade your crochet hook and st marker you placed in Row 15 (now your crochet hook should be in the loop you preserved from Row 15, and the st marker should be in the loop that was on your crochet hook at the end of row 21).
Row 22: CH 7 with Color B yarn (this should draw this color up to your current row). Working in the last BACK POST st (where you placed the SL st at the end of Row 21), place 1 BACK POST st. Follow the alternating pattern of FRONT and BACK POST stitches around the row.

Crochet Wine Cozy Written Pattern:
Crochet Hook: J/10/5.75MM
Yarn: 4 Strands of ANY yarn (scrap yarn is ideal) OR follow along with my four skein challenge and use Lion Brand Yarn’s Re-Up Recycled Cotton and Polyester Blend (Size 4, Medium Weight, Colors: Rust & Sea Glass)
Additional Items Needed: Stitch Marker (I use a safety pin or scrap yarn) and Scissors

NOTE: For this project, we are going to be working two strands simultaneously like they are one to create a chunky yarn.

Chain Rope:
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Place a long rope of chain stitches and remove the crochet hook from the loop. Re-insert crochet hook and add additional chain stitches as necessary to complete the project.

Row 1: Insert crochet hook through the 1st CH st of the chain rope (beside starting tail). Keep CH st on the crochet hook and tie a magic circle with the other two strands of yarn. Working over the CH rope and inside the MC, place 8 SC st.

NOTE: From this point to the end of the pattern, you will be crocheting over the chain rope.

Row 2: Place 2 SC in each st in the row, marking the 1st st (16 total SC st).
Row 3: **1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2.** Repeat ** around the row (24 total SC st).
Rows 4 - 25: Place 1 SC in each st in each row (24 total SC st).
Row 26: Working OVER the CH rope only, place 6 SC, then skip 6 st. In the 7th st, and still working over the CH rope, place 1 SC. Place 1 SC in the next 5 st. Working OVER the CH rope only, place 6 SC, then skip 6 st. In the 7th st, and still working over the CH rope, place 1 SC. Place 1 SC in the next 5 st. This should put you back at the beginning of the 1st handle.
Row 27: Place 1 SC in each st in the row (24 total SC st).
Rows 28 - 30: Repeat Row 27. End the last row between the 2nd and 1st handle. Pull all the CH st out of the CH rope until 1 loop remains sticking out of the last SC st. Insert crochet hook in that loop, then insert crochet hook in the next st and yarn over and drop all the loops on your crochet hook for a SL st.
Cut and tie off both strands of yarn.

We used matte Mod Podge to adhere the flowers to the canvas and let them dry overnight.

Crochet Sunglasses Case Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium Weight (Lion Brand Yarns, Re-Up Recycled Cotton and Polyester Blend, Colors: Rosewater and Surf Spray)

Attach Color A yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 13, turn.
Row 2: Skip st 1 & 2, in BLO of 3rd st, place 1 DC. Place 1 DC in each remaining st in the row (11 total DC st + CH 2). Turn work toward starting tail so that you are working in the FLO from Row 1, place 1 DC in the FLO of each st in the row - this should create a large oval with 23 total DC st + CH 2.
Row 3: Creating a spiral pattern, place 1 FRONT POST st in the CH 2 from Row 2. Alternate between placing FRONT and BACK POST stitches around the row (24 total POST st).
Row 4 - 6: Continue to follow the spiral pattern, alternating FRONT and BACK POST stitches. Like stitches should stack on top of each other in the subsequent rows, creating vertical ridges. End your last row in the FRONT POST st behind the last BACK POST st of the row. Place 1 SL st around the BACK POST of the following st, then insert a st marker to hold the loop around the crochet hook and remove your crochet hook. You should be able to remove the st marker and reinsert your crochet hook into the loop to continue working with this color when needed.

Crochet Wine Koozie Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium Weight (Lion Brand Yarns, Re-Up Recycled Cotton and Polyester Blend, Colors: Rosewater and Surf Spray)

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1 and place 8 SC inside MC.
Row 2: Use a st marker to mark the 1st st of this row, skip the CH 1, then place 2 SC in each st in the row, following a spiral pattern (16 total SC st).
Row 3: *1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2.* Repeat ** around the row (24 total SC st).
Row 4: *1 SC in st 1 - 2, 2 SC in st 3.* Repeat ** around the row(32 total SC st).
Row 5: *1 SC in st 1 - 3, 2 SC in st 4.* Repeat ** around the row (40 total SC st).
Rows 6 - 44: Place 1 SL st in the FLO of each st in the row, following the spiral pattern still. Finish the last row by placing 1 SL st in the full st of the next st, then the BLO of the following st.
Row 45: Remove crochet hook from loop, insert st marker in the loop to preserve it. Attach Color B to crochet hook using a SL st and insert crochet hook in the FLO of the last st worked in previous row. Place 1 SC in this st and CH 1. Skip the next st and place 1 SC in the following st. *CH 1 and skip the next st, then place 1 SC in the following st.* Repeat * around the row.
Rows 46 - 48: Working in the gaps between the SC stitches, *1 SC in the gap between the previous row’s SC st, CH 1.* Repeat ** around the row, following a spiral pattern. At the end of the last row, after the last SC st, CH 1, then place 1 SL st in the next gap. Cut and tie off Color B Yarn.
Row 49: Insert crochet hook in Color A yarn’s preserved loop (from Row 45). CH 3, then working in the last row, insert the crochet hook in the 2nd st back from where you tied off Color B yarn (this should be the CH 1 before you placed the SL st) and place 1 SL st here. Place 1 SL st in the next st, then skip over the portion where you tied off the yarn and place 1 SL st in the remaining st in the row until you get back to the 1st SL st.
Rows 50 - 54: Place 1 SL st in the FLO of each st in each row.
Row 55: CH 10, then skip 10 st. Place 1 SL st in the FLO of the next 10 st. CH 10, then skip 10 st. Place 1 SL st in the FLO of the next 10 st (this should bring you back to the 1st handle.
Row 56: Place 1 SL st in the FLO of each st in the row.

Crochet Sunglasses Case Pattern
Crochet Hook: J/10/5.75MM
Yarn: Any FOUR strands - scrap yarn is ideal for this project OR follow along with my Storage Solutions four skein challenge, using the Lion Brand Yarns Re-Up Recycled Cotton and Polyester Blend yarn (size 4, Medium weight, colors Rust and Sea Glass).

**NOTE: For this entire project, we are going to be crocheting two strands as if they are one strand.

With two strands of Color A yarn, starting with whichever color you want in the background, attach yarn to the crochet hook using a slip knot. Place a long rope of chain stitches, then pull a long loop out and remove your crochet hook. You want to be able to add additional chain stitches as necessary.

Row 1: Using the two strands of Color B yarn, attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot and CH 9. At the end of the row, with the current loop still on the crochet hook, insert the crochet hook in the 1st CH st from the chain rope (beside the starting tail). Yarn over with Color B yarn and pull through all of the loops on the crochet hook.
Row 2: From here until the end of the pattern, we are going to be working OVER our chain rope as well as in our normal stitches. Working the BLO of each remaining st in the row, place 1 SC (again working over the CH rope). At the end of the row, turn work slightly toward the starting tail and place 1 SC in the FLO of each CH st from Row 1 (creating a large oval) (19 total SC st in the round).
Rows 3 - 16: Working a spiral pattern around the oval you created in Row 2, place 1 SC in each st in each row.
Row 17: Make sure you have ended the last row so that there are 14 total rows on both sides. Lay the sunglasses case down flat and end the last SC st on the next natural fold. Keep the currently loop on your crochet hook while you complete the following steps: pull out the remaining CH stitches from the CH rope until only one loop is sticking out of the last SC st. Insert crochet hook in that loop (you should have Color A & B on your crochet hook now). Insert crochet hook in the following st and yarn over and pull through all the loops on your crochet hook (you should have dropped Color A entirely at this point). Then working only with Color B and no longer over your chain rope, place 1 SL st in each st until you make it back to the fold on the other side.
Cut current Color B yarn, then insert crochet hook in the following st and yarn over all pull all the way through so you drop everything on your crochet hook. Pull tail tightly to secure.
With Color A tail, cut the yarn and insert your crochet hook in one of the loops close by. Tie of Color A using the loop and then hide both tails down the inside of the sunglasses case.

Crochet Pencil Cup Pattern:
Crochet Hook: J/10/5.75MM
Yarn: 4 Strands of ANY yarn (scrap yarn is ideal) OR follow along with my four skein challenge and use Lion Brand Yarn’s Re-Up Recycled Cotton and Polyester Blend (Size 4, Medium Weight, Colors: Rust & Sea Glass)
Additional Items Needed: Stitch Marker (I use a safety pin or scrap yarn) and Scissors

NOTE: For this project, we are going to be working two strands simultaneously like they are one to create a chunky yarn.

Chain Rope:
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Place a long rope of chain stitches and remove the crochet hook from the loop. Re-insert crochet hook and add additional chain stitches as necessary to complete the project.

Row 1: Insert crochet hook through the 1st CH st of the chain rope (beside starting tail). Keep CH st on the crochet hook and tie a magic circle with the other two strands of yarn. Working over the CH rope and inside the MC, place 8 SC st.

NOTE: From this point to the end of the pattern, you will be crocheting over the chain rope.

Row 2: Place 2 SC in each st in the row, marking the 1st st (16 total SC st).

Row 3: **1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2.** Repeat ** around the row (24 total SC st).

Rows 4 - 25: Place 1 SC in each st in each row (24 total SC st).

INSERT CAN INTO SLEEVE.

Row 26: **1 SC in st 1, SC 2together in st 2 & 3.** Repeat ** around the row (16 total SC st).

Row 27: SC 2together around the row (8 total SC st).
Remove excess CH st from the CH rope until 1 loop is sticking out of the last row of SC st. With current loop still on the crochet hook, insert crochet hook in the CH loop. Insert crochet hook in the next st and yarn over and pull through all the loops on the crochet hook.

Cut CH rope tail like normal, but leave an 8-inch tail for the tail of the SC st yarn strands. Weave the long tail in and out of the last row of SC st, then cinch the tail tightly and secure this hold by tying the CH rope tail and current tail together a few times.

Draw all tails to the inside of the sleeve of the pencil cup.

Tuck pencil cup sleeve into can and flatten all around.

NOTE: for the rest of the pattern, we will be working OVER the chain rope, so please add additional chains to the rope as necessary.

Row 1: Place 8 SC inside the MC and OVER the chain rope.

NOTE: for Rows 2 - 10, mark the 1st st in each row).

Row 2: Working in a spiral, place 2 SC in each st in the row (16 total SC st).

Row 3: **1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2.** Repeat * around the row (24 total SC st).

Row 4: **1 SC in st 1 - 2, 2 SC in st 3.** Repeat * around the row (32 total SC st).
Row 5: **1 SC in st 1 - 3, 2 SC in st 4.** Repeat * around the row (40 total SC st).
Row 6: **1 SC in st 1 - 4, 2 SC in st 5.** Repeat * around the row (48 total SC st).
Row 7: **1 SC in st 1 - 5, 2 SC in st 6.** Repeat * around the row (56 total SC st).
Row 8: **1 SC in st 1 - 6, 2 SC in st 7.** Repeat * around the row (64 total SC st).
Row 9: **1 SC in st 1 - 7, 2 SC in st 8.** Repeat * around the row (72 total SC st).
Row 10: **1 SC in st 1 - 8, 2 SC in st 9.** Repeat * around the row (80 total SC st).
Row 11: Mark the 20th st from the current st using the st marker. Place 30 SC OVER the chain rope, working OVER the chain rope, not in the previous row’s stitches. Starting in the st you marked, place 1 SC in each st in the row until you get back to the start of the handle (where you worked the 30 SC over the chain rope) (90 total st).

Crochet Bathroom Basket Pattern:
Crochet Hook: K/6.5MM

Skein Challenge Notes: follow along with my skein challenge and crochet a variety of like-minded items as a gift or just to have around your home! For this challenge, I am working with FOUR skeins of the Lion Brand Yarns Re-Up (100% recycled cotton and polyester blend yarn). It is size 4, Medium weight yarn, and the colors are Rust and Sea Glass! I made two of the baskets in the challenge, reversing the colors.

Start with the color you want in the background. Working with TWO STRANDS of it at once, attach yarn to the crochet hook, and create a very long chain rope. Place a safety pin in the loop to hold your stitches (this will also allow you to add more chains as necessary).

Row 1: Insert crochet hook in the 1st CH of your chain rope and keep the st on your crochet hook while you place a Magic Circle. Draw through the chain rope, then working OVER the chain rope, place 8 SC st inside the MC.
NOTE: we are going to be working OVER the chain rope for the rest of the pattern.
Row 2: Working a spiral pattern, place 2 SC in each st in the row - marking the 1st st of the row - for a total of 16 SC st.
Row 3: *1 SC in st 1, 2 SC in st 2.* Repeat * around the row (24 total SC st).
Row 4: *1 SC in st 1 - 2, 2 SC in st 3.* Repeat * around the row (32 total SC st).
Row 5: *1 SC in st 1 - 3, 2 SC in st 4.* Repeat * around the row (40 total SC st).
Row 6: *1 SC in st 1 - 4, 2 SC in st 5.* Repeat * around the row (48 total SC st).
Row 7: *1 SC in st 1 - 5, 2 SC in st 6.* Repeat * around the row (56 total SC st).
Row 8: *1 SC in st 1 - 6, 2 SC in st 7.* Repeat * around the row (64 total SC st).
Row 9: 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row.
Rows 10 - 24: 1 SC in each st in each row.
To finish off the basket, pull out the chain rope until only 1 loop is sticking out from your last st. Insert crochet hook in the chain rope’s loop, then place 1 SC in the following st (using the non-chain rope’s working yarn). After yarning over, pull through all three loops on the crochet hook to drop the chain rope.
Place 1 SC in the following 3 st, then 1 SL st in the following 3 st.
Cut and tie off both ends of yarn, making sure to tie a knot with the chain rope tail to ensure it doesn’t pull out.
Hide tails on the inside of the basket.

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).

STEPS:
1. Gather scissors, a crochet hook, and 8 strands of 8-inch yarn. Adjust the number of strands for a different width and the length of the strands for a different-length tassel. An 8-inch strand will make a 3.75-inch tassel.
2. Insert crochet hook in any loop, coming from the direction you want the BOTTOM of your tassel.
3. From the center of the strands of yarn, pull through the loop, creating small loops with the strands.
4. Insert crochet hook through all the loops created by your strands and pull on any short strands to even them out.
5. Remove crochet hook from loops and insert your thumb and index finger, then pull all the ends of the strands of yarn through the strands-loop, trying to tighten all strands at once.
6. Trim ends of the tassel so they are the same length.

Sunglasses Case Crochet Pattern:
Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: 4 Medium (Lion Brand Yarns Re-Up 100% Recycled Cotton & Polyester Blend (Full Moon))

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 16 (Regular Case) or 19 (Large Case), turn.
Row 2: Starting in the 2nd CH st from crochet hook, place 1 SL st in the BLO of each st in the row (15 or 18 total st). Turn work toward the starting tail, then place 1 SL st in the FLO of each CH st from row 1 (this will create an oval pattern, so from here on out, the pattern will be worked in the round) (31 or 37 total st).
Rows 3 - 31: Following a continuous loop, or spiral, pattern, place 1 SL st in the FLO of each st in each row, allowing the pattern to spiral rather than starting and stopping each individual row. Each row should have 31 or 37 st. End the last row on one of the natural folds of the sunglasses case.
Cut and tie off yarn.
Hide tail by crocheting in the direction you were crocheting for a few stitches, then up the inside of the phone/sunglasses sleeve.

Crochet Wall Art #1:
Materials:
6” Embroidery Ring, inside of ring only
Yarn: 4 Medium, Cotton, Brand: Lily Sugar N’Creme
Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: Working AROUND the embroidery ring, place 60 SC stitches. SL st in 1st SC to join (60 total SC st). Move these stitches to the inside of the ring after completing Row 1.
Row 2: CH 2, then working backwards, skip the last 2 st, and in the 3rd st from current, place 1 BEAD st (yarn over and pull up through 4 times, then yarn over and drop all the loops, then CH 1). **Skip the next 3 st you haven’t already worked and place 1 DC in the 4th st. Working backwards in the center skipped st, place 1 BEAD st.** Repeat around the row (15 total BEAD st). SL st in 1st BEAD st to join.
Cut and tie off yarn.
Hide tails on the backside of the project.

Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: Wool and the Gang’s Raffia Ribbon Yarn (this is water-repellent)

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).

Row 1: CH 2 and place 12 DC inside MC. SL st into 1st DC to join (12 total DC).

Row 2: CH 2 and place 2 DC in each st in the row - starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (24 total DC).

Row 3: CH 2 and place **1 DC in st 1, and 2 DC in st 2.** Repeat ** around the row, starting with the current st and skipping the SL st at the end of the row. SL st into 1st DC to join (36 total DC).

Crochet Scrap Yarn Child Beanie Pattern:
Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: 4 Medium Wool (Scrap Yarn Balls), Cascade Yarns, Colors: Alpine, Natural, Sky & Copper

NOTE: each of us will be changing colors at varying times in this pattern. Please follow these instructions whenever you run out of yarn. Whenever you have about 1-foot of yarn remaining, take note of where you are currently in the pattern. From here, continue to follow the pattern, but trade out the DC st for SC (for the next 4 st of the pattern), then place 1 - 2 SL stitches (for the next 1 - 2 stitches of the pattern). Tie off current color. Then attach next color to your crochet hook using a slip knot, insert your crochet hook under the next st (unless you need to add an additional st to current st (this is only for the first 5 rows where we are increasing, depending on where you are in the pattern when it is time to change colors)). Pick up the pattern with the new color by placing the next 4 st (still following the pattern) using SC rather than DC st, then switch back to DC after the first 4 stitches are placed). This should round out the spiral pattern at the times when you need to change out for a new color.

Attach Color A to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 1, then place 12 DC inside the MC. Do not join at the end of the row, instead we want this pattern to act like a spiral.
Row 2: Working in the 1st DC st, place 2 DC in each st in the row. Mark the 1st DC st of this row with a safety pin or st marker (24 total DC st). The row ends when you get back to the st marker.
Row 3: Working in the 1st DC st, **Place 1 DC in st 1, 2 DC in st 2.** Repeat * around the row (36 total DC st).
Row 4: Working in the 1st DC st, **Place 1 DC in st 1 - 2, 2 DC in st 3.** Repeat * around the row (48 total DC st).
Row 5: Working in the 1st DC st, **Place 1 DC in st 1 - 3, 2 DC in st 4.** Repeat * around the row (60 total DC st).
Rows 6 - ?: Place 1 DC in each st in each row.
Once you’ve gotten the beanie to your desired length, we are going to place about 4 SC st and 2 SL st, then cut and tie off our yarn, and hide our tail up the inside of the beanie.

Striped Baby Beanie FREE Pattern:
Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: 4 Medium Wool, Cascade Yarns, Colors: Alpine & Copper

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC) with Color A.
Row 1: CH 2 and place 11 DC inside MC. SL st in 1st DC to join (11 total DC st).

Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: 4 Medium, Wool, Cascade Yarns “Heather,” 3 Colors (Sky & Copper)

Brim:
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 21, turn.
Row 2: Starting in the BLO of the 2nd CH st from the crochet hook, place 1 HDC SL st in each st in the row (20 total HDC SL st). CH 1, turn.
Row 3: Skip the turning CH st, then place 1 HDC SL st in the BLO of each st in the row (20 total HDC SL st).
Rows 4 - ?: Repeat Row 3. Make sure you last row puts your crochet hook and starting tail on opposite ends if you fold the brim in half lengthwise.

Beanie Crochet Pattern:
Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: 4 Medium, Wool, Cascade Yarns “Heather,” 3 Colors (Natural, Alpine, & Copper)

Brim (Color A):
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 21, turn.
Row 2: Working in 2nd CH from crochet hook, place 1 HDC SL st in the BLO of each st in the row (20 total st). CH 1, turn.
Row 3: Skip turning CH st, then place 1 HDC SL st in the BLO of each st in the row (20 total st). CH 1, turn.
Rows 4 - ?: Repeat Row 3.
End the last row so that your crochet hook is on the opposite side as your starting tail.
Fold the short edges together and SL stitch the corresponding stitches together.
Fold the brim length-wise, hiding the joining seam you just created inside the fold.
Cut and tie off yarn.

Crochet Storage Pouch Pattern:
Crochet Hook: H/8/5.00MM
Yarn: 4 Medium, Cotton
¾-inch Button

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 15, turn.
Row 2: Working in the 3rd CH from crochet hook, place 1 DC in the BLO of each st in the row (13 total), then turn work toward starting tail, and working in the FLO of each st, place 1 DC (26 total DC in the round - make sure you don’t accidentally work in the turning CH 2 at the beginning of the row).
Row 3: Working in the 1st DC from row 1, place 1 DC in each st in the row. You want to dive right into placing the DC st without joining at the end of the row. This will create a spiral pattern, so you don’t need to worry about starting or stopping your individual rows.
Rows 4 - 9: Continue spiral pattern, working 1 DC in each st in the row. You want to end the last row on the natural fold of the pouch. You should have 8 rows on the front side and 9 rows on the back.
Row 10: CH 2, and turn the work. Place 1 DC in the next 13 st (you should end up near the other fold).
Row 11: CH 2, and turn the work. Place 1 DC in each st of this row (13 total DC st).
Rows 12 - 13: Repeat Row 11.
Cut and tie off yarn.
Attach the button to the main body of the pouch by stringing yarn through two of the holes then pulling the tails through the front stitches. Secure with knots on the backside and hide the tails down the inside of the pouch.

Crochet chevron brim according to precursor video up to 43 chevron stitches, then attach the short edges using SL stitches (shown in both videos). Cut and tie off yarn.

Row 1: Insert crochet hook in available loop on edge of brim near starting and ending tails. Yarn over with the next color. CH 2 and place 2 DC at the top of each chevron st for a total of 90 DC - including CH 2. SL st in the top of the 1st DC st to join. Secure loop that is on your crochet hook with a safety pin.
Row 2: Insert crochet hook in the 1st DC st, then yarn over with the next color. Working in current st first, alternate between placing FRONT and BACK POST stitches going around the row. Should end with the CH 2 post (90 total POST st). SL st in 1st POST st to join. Remove safety pin from loop in row 1 and replace with crochet hook. Insert safety pin into the loop from this row.
Row 3: CH 1, then alternate between BACK & FRONT POST stitches (this should be the OPPOSITE of what you worked in the previous row, meaning in every FRONT POST, place a BACK POST, and visa versa. SL st in 1st POST st to join (90 total POST stitches). Place a safety pin in this loop.
Row 4: Yarn over with the next color (should be the 3rd color), and start working the FRONT & BACK POST stitches (again alternating what you worked in the previous row). When you place the 1st POST st of this row, it might be helpful to hold on to the tail while you place the st.
Rows 5 - 21: Alternate between FRONT & BACK POST stitches, switching colors every row. My pattern was *Color A, then Color B, then Color A, then Color C* repeating * throughout the rows. When you want to “pull” a previous color, if it is Color A (for me this was the blue color), then CH 1, but for Colors B & C, CH 3 to bring the working yarn up to the current row.
Row 22: Place 1 decreasing POST st in each st in the row (45 total POST stitches). SL st in 1st POST st to join.
Row 23: Place 1 BACK POST st in st 1, then place 1 decreasing POST st in each st in the row (23 total st). SL st in 1st POST to join. Cut and tie off current color.
Row 24: Place 1 decreasing POST st in each st in the row (12 total POST stitches). SL st in 1st POST st to join. Cut and tie off current color.
Row 25: Place 1 decreasing POST st in each st in the row (12 total POST stitches). SL st in 1st POST st to join. Place SL st in the st across the small hole to close any gaps at the top of the beanie, then cut and tie off current color.

Steps to UNWIND yarn:
1. Untwist and unknot yarn.
2. Find the tails, if there are ties around the skein, you can remove them, but keep in mind that one of these will contain the starting and ending tails!
3. Lay the skein out in an oval on a flat surface.
4. Working with whichever tail looks the easiest to start, begin to wind the yarn around your fingers.

Tips:
* Never let the yarn oval lose its shape. Use the ball of yarn you are creating to prevent strings from pulling out of the oval, and take your time while winding to prevent the yarn from starting to knot.*
" Keep the grip on your yarn very loose to prevent it from becoming fuzzy during the winding process.

Guitar Pick Hanging Storage Case Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium Weight (I am using cotton)

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
CH 10, then SL st into 1st CH st to create a small chain loop, then CH 50.
Row 1: Working inside the chain loop (and over the starting tail), place 12 SC AROUND the chain loop. This should create a larger loop with the CH 50.
Row 2: Working BEHIND the large chain loop, place 1 SC in each st in the row (this pattern is going to act like a spiral, so we don’t have to worry about joining each individual row. Mark the 1st st of the row using a safety pin, stitch marker, or scrap piece of yarn (12 total SC st).
Row 3: Place 1 SC in each st in the row (marking the 1st st with your st marker) (12 total SC st).
Row 4: Place *1 SC in st 1, SC 2together in st 2 & 3.* Repeat * around the row (8 total SC st).
Row 5: SC 2together in each st in the row (4 total SC st).
SL st in st across the small hole from your crochet hook.
Cut and tie off yarn.
Draw tail to inside of guitar pick holder, and cut it so that it doesn’t stick out of the top, but not too short that it pulls back through the bottom easily.

Row 6: *Repeatable CHEVRON ST* Skip turning CH, then place 1 SC in st 1. Working in the FLO from Row 4 (this is left over from the st where you placed 1 SC in the BLO), place 1 TR. Working in the top row, skip the following st, then place 1 SC in st 3, 1 SC in the BLO of st 4, and then 1 SC in st 5. Working back in the FLO from Row 4, place 1 TR. Working in the top row again, skip the following st, then place 1 SC in the last st in the row. CH 1, turn.
Rows 7 - ?: Repeat Rows 5 & 6 to build the body of the brim or band.
