Monkees - Every Step Of The Way (Remix) Jon Hunt 2026-06-04 | I have always had a soft spot for "Pool It," the Monkees album released in '87. I was thirsty for new Monkees songs and even though it's....inconsistent, there are some great tunes on it (you cannot argue with "Heart and Soul" or "Whole Wide World"). The one shame: Davy doesn't get a hit single. His one punchy rock song is this one -- written by Ian Hunter of Mott the Hoople -- and it was saddled with thin, anemic production (terrible drums, no bass!) So I took the drums from "Heart and Soul" and cut them up, boosted the hell out of the bass, added TONS of EQ and compression and a little bit of 80s reverb gloss. I think it's at least a little meaty now, and it fits better with the hits on Side 1. Give it a go!

LOOK (Smile 66 version) Jon Hunt 2025-09-14 | I wanted to do a "Smile-era" mix of Look similar to my Holidays one -- with the added caveat that I wanted it to feel like a stand-alone song rather than just a transition piece between Wonderful and Child. So while using the melodies from the BWPS version (changed to sound like Young Brian), I gave it more of a verse/chorus structure and saturated the chorus with vocals like Brian would have during Smile. Oh, and I added vocals to the "kiddie part," from -- well, you'll see.
Dracula Curtain Speech (AI) v2.0 Jon Hunt 2025-09-12 | I did a version of the Dracula curtain speech a couple years ago, using the then state-of-the-art AI and some standard animation. Just to show how much AI has improved, I purloined the AI-generated vocal from several other versions of this out on the web, messed with it a little, then used two different video Ads to generate a very close rendition of said speech from photos that still remain.
LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT AI version 2.0 (sorta) Jon Hunt 2025-08-14 | So since I did my last version of London After Midnight, the technology improved immensely -- so I was able to use generative AI to generate moving bits from stills, which is kinda cool. BUT -- since I did this stuff in January, video AI improved *yet more* and so now some of this looks a wee bit obsolete. I decided to throw it up for folks' amusement, keeping in mind that some of the timing is weird (the bit where they're in the graveyard particularly), some of the shots are too static (especially in the first scene -- and the original script has Lucy, where did SHE end up?) and nothing's perfect. But a few things are cool as heck, like any time the Man in the Beaver Hat shows up. I'll probably do a 3.0 soon and fix some of the original issues using the even better tech of now, and add another couple scenes to the end. Anyway -- it's still pretty cool, and one of the only legit uses of AI I can even fathom. Enjoy.
Beach Boys - Wonderful (Finished Rock With Me Henry Version) Jon Hunt 2025-08-12 | At long last, a finished-ish version of the Rock With Me Henry "Wonderful" that doesn't just blast the backing vocals, and has a complete lead vocal without "I need some water, man." Very little AI trickery was used -- the one missing verse between the Smiley version and the Smile version was filled in training an AI with Carl's low-and-slow voice and just turning Brian's lead into Carl for a verse. The rest is just Carl, pitched up a wee bit.
The Beach Boys - Holidays (Smile Fake Jardine Version) Jon Hunt 2025-07-26 | I wanted to do a version of "Holidays / On A Holiday" with the BWPS lyrics (which I love) but with a younger voice to fit on a Smile mix. So what we have here is my Al Jardine "machine learning" model -- it's Brian's vocal, but turned into Al Jardine. And the middle "rap" section? That's a vocal model I trained on Hal Blaine's "Barker" voice from "Amusement Parks USA" (you know, "she's got the biggest Asp in town")! I feel like it sounds pretty good, and I stuck fairly close to the BWPS arrangement (I kept their "rock/rock and roll part because I thought it sounded Beach Boys-y enough).
Let Us Go On This Way (cover) Jon Hunt 2025-06-22 | After Brian passed, I thought "I should cover a Beach Boys song." I'm a little out of practice doing music at all (most of my time is spent with design) so you'll forgive the slightly ragged backing vocals, but I thought this song was more my style and speed than some pristine Pet Sounds song.
Beach Boys - Soulful Old Man Sunshine (Omnibus Remix) Jon Hunt 2025-05-14 | So there are two versions of "Soulful Old Man Sunshine" -- one from the Endless Harmony soundtrack, the other from the recent "Feel Flows" compilation. The former has the full, rich backing vocals, while the latter has a complete LEAD vocal minus the "shunshine" error plus a bunch of backing vocals not in the original mix! This version combines the two -- it adds the crazy backing vocals to the better lead/new vocal version and leaves in the wild electric guitar as well.
Oasis - I Hope, I Think, I Know (Massive Whomping Edit) Jon Hunt 2024-08-30 | Not much to chop on this one -- just a little bit out of the middle, and added in a fade-in rather than the long-ass thumpa-thumpa rock ending. One of the few almost short songs on there.
Oasis - Stand By Me (Massive Whomping Edit) Jon Hunt 2024-08-29 | The Massive Whomping Edit continues as I shave a full 2 minutes from "Stand By Me." I also constructed a coda out of what should have been the coda to begin with and got rid of a very dull 2nd verse. Love this song, honestly.
Magic Pie (Massive Whomping Edit) Jon Hunt 2024-08-28 | The Oasis "Be Here Now" MASSIVE WHOMPING EDIT continues, with "Magic Pie," a terrific song that's at least 2 minutes too long and is mostly coda. I've got it down to 4:30, which is a good length for an epic ballad like this, and at least a minute of that is fade.
Oasis - My Big Mouth (Massive Whomping Edit) Jon Hunt 2024-08-27 | I've always wanted to do a full edit of the "Be Here Now" album that edits all the songs down to reasonable length -- not FIVE minutes, not SEVEN minutes, but a good ol' three minute pop song. Cut everything down to a snappy, tight single-length (and maybe add a wee bit of bass while taking out the brick walling). Maybe you can't do that with EVERY song, but the rockers? Oh yeah. I think you can. I think you can.

Lost Dracula Curtain Epilogue recreated with AI Jon Hunt 2024-01-26 | (Or...not AI, really, but a combo of traditional frame-by-frame animation and DeepFake used to animate a photo of Edward Van Sloan, the actor who played Van Helsing.)If you're unfamiliar, the "curtain epilogue" was a brief warning delivered by Van Sloan, similar to his prologue in Frankenstein, saying that though we hope you're not too scared, there *are* such things as vampires! It was cut because the studio didn't want to encourage "belief in the supernatural." A restored version has never been released, making it a candidate for this kind of simulation.That's my voice.

SWAN LEE (Pink Floyd version) Jon Hunt 2023-11-06 | A few months ago I posted an earlier version of it, but the mix was PLAGUED by a low rumbling hum on the vocal track that made it so bass heavy as to be unlistenable. I ran a de-hummer on it (that sounds terrible) and EQed everything else, then mixed it to MONO and made sure on all types of speakers that it sounded halfway decent this time. The drums and bass are Nick and Roger (though the bass is obviously assembled) and the keys are..."fake Rick" apart from some organ drone.
