Residents from Bampton, Oxfordshire, have objected to plans for 190 new homes in the village made famous as the filming location for Downton Abbey.

The development would include 40% affordable housing on land west of Mount Owen Road.

Critics say Bampton has already seen too much building and fear the impact on local infrastructure, flooding and the loss of countryside.

Developers say the scheme would provide a mix of homes and public open space.
