Funny Filly
This thoroughbred race horse has only been able to train once in five days since the crazy cold weather started hitting us again. Even though she still gets turned out all day, this filly just has too much energy to burn. She has some of the silliest jumping moves that I have seen. This video is a preview of her crazy and very entertaining moves. We just never get the really good moves on video. When the ice melts in the paddock, she might be doing backflips. She wants to do more than trot around. Her shoes had to be removed because the ice just builds up under her feet and that really made her mad. Thoroughbred race horses love to run and this filly is no exception. This funny filly needs some real exercise. She was training 3-5 miles, a day, until the deep freeze hit the country in January. She loves to gallop and jump, but just can't contain her need for speed in her paddock and the stall. She does a little song and dance when she hears her feed bucket bouncing, but today she was really excited. She has free access to a paddock, as you can see by the open door, but doesn't want to waste anytime hitting that first bite of grain when it comes. She is the "feed me first" type! Hopefully she will be able to run all that energy out at the track sooner than later or at least back to jumping on our cross country gallops. This is definitely the spirit of a thoroughbred race horse.
