Funeral services for Robert J. Booker, a leader in Knoxville's Civil Rights Movement and later a revered chronicler for the city's Black history, have been set for Feb 28. Booker died Feb. 22 at the age of 88.

The family will receive friends 10:30 a.m.-noon Feb. 28, with services to follow at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 2137 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. Pastor Vincent M. Jones Jr. will be the eulogist, and the Rev. Dr. Harold Middlebrook will officiate, according to Booker's obituary.

Interment will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 29 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be be made in Booker's honor to the Beck Cultural Exchange Center or Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
