Star Trek Beyond is the third entry in the rebooted series. We found the narrative outside of the opening. The motivations for the antagonist's rage and destruction seemed underwritten, underdeveloped, and unjustified. We found the film conventional. It developed Spock and Bones nicely and had some good humor. R.I.P. Anton Yelchin.
