A fun frisbee throw as a reinforcement delivery for heelwork
Practice the throw and master it without the dog. Then train the dog the throw while the dog is facing you so he can see it, repeat multiple times. Practice having the dog retrieve the throw then start to practice it in the heel position only when your dog is confident with the reinforcement delivery so that your dog anticipates the throw and they don’t find it confusing frustrating or punishing.
