My favorite being the tip from British Dog Trainer Kay Laurence of using a chair to initially get the offering of the behavior. Get your dog backing up like a star! If your dog is struggling however it can be due to structure or something physical so check with a physical therapist to see what the issue is and sometimes backing up is one of the exercises that will benefit your dogs health and physical fitness!
