New for 2013 is Full Throttle. Full Throttle is a steel, launched roller coaster currently under construction at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The roller coaster is being built by Premier Rides.
Full Throttle will launch riders at 70mph out of it's loading station into the world's tallest vertical loop on a roller coaster at 160 feet (49 m) high, surpassing Superman: Krypton Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas' 145-foot-tall (44 m) vertical loop. The ride will then send riders above the Superman Plaza high atop the mountain. The train will then enter a Flying Snake Dive like inversion, dropping immediately into the old Metro Monorail tunnel, coming to an abrupt stop. Once stopped in the tunnel, the train will be launched in reverse, out of the tunnel back into the same inversion you just went thru forwards. After losing momentum, you will then re-enter the tunnel (complete with lighting effects) into launch #3 and will exit the tunnel, immediately hitting a airtime hill which is mounted atop the same 160 foot tall loop you went thru at the beginning of the ride. After the hill, you will enter the ride's brake run and the ride will be over.
Full Throttle will feature an unannounced amount of trains, with 3 cars per train, and 6 riders per car making for 18 riders per train.
The ride will feature LSM (Linear Synchronous Motor) motors.
Full Throttle will open in Summer 2013 after replacing the Log Jammer, the park's iconic and historic Log Flume. As part of the ride's opening, the High Sierra Territory section of the park surrounding the ride will be completely rethemed. It is expected that this section of the park will be reduced to minimalistic theming, ala exposed steel and concrete, with no theme at all.
