A Full Moon Rite by Courtney Weber with my own twist
November's Full Moon is in Gemini. By opposing the strident energies of Sagittarius (and falling on the American Thanksgiving...) communications can be fraught and possibly painful. Given that we're fresh out of Venus Retrograde (when all the curtains are pulled back, exposing the befuddled wizards behind them), we need our words to restore beauty and engage in constructive conversation.
What you'll need:
- A red or pink rose
- Lavender (fresh, dried, or essential oil)
- Base oil (baby oil, olive, coconut, etc.)
- White candle
- An image of the moon (The Moon from the Tarot is a perfect icon)
Surround the image of the Moon and the white candle with the petals from the rose and the lavender. The rose symbolizes beauty and the lavender, communication. Light the candle and say the following prayer:
Lady Diana, Silver Maiden,
The Blessed Twins, Heavenly Gemini,
Mother Venus, Sacred Beauty,
Inspire these petals, infuse this oil,
Bless my world with beauty,
Bless my words with song
So mote it be!
Leave the petals and lavender around the oil for a couple of days while they dry out. Then, add to the oil. Anoint yourself or your jewelry with the oil before heading to events where tensions may be high (such as Thanksgiving with tricky relatives!)
Decks used:
Black Moon Astrology Cards
Moonology Oracle
Aquarian Tarot in Italian
