![Dick Cheney The Living Embodiment Of Eisenhowers Greatest Fear
Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that President Barack Obama is devastating the U.S. military and needs to divert more resources away from domestic priorities such as rebuilding roads and making sure low-income people can get food.
During an event sponsored by Politico, Cheney said the next president needs to turn around the whole trend of cutting defense dollars.
That ought to be our top priority for spending. Not food stamps, not highways or anything else, Cheney said. Your No. 1 responsibility as president is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. [Obama] is the commander-in-chief and hes absolutely devastating the United States military today.* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Environmental Standards for Uranium Fuel Cycle Facilities: Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR)
Comment period extended to August 3, 2014
EPAs mission is to protect human health and the environment. The Agency sets generally applicable environmental standards that limit the amount of radioactivity that can be released into the environment. EPA does not oversee the daily operations of nuclear power plants or nuclear fuel facilities. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has regulatory responsibility for licensing and oversight of nuclear power plants and other commercial facilities that use radioactive materials. NRC implements EPA standards at applicable facilities.
EPA establishes certain generally applicable environmental standards to protect human health and the environment from radioactive materials. Issued in 1977, Environmental Radiation Protection Standards for Nuclear Power Operations (40 CFR 190) limit the radiation releases and doses to the public from the normal operations of nuclear power plants and other uranium fuel cycle facilities—the facilities involved in the manufacture and use of uranium fuel for generating electrical power.

Interview with Dr. Charles Perrow, professor emeritus at Yale University and author of the award-winning book Normal Accidents: Living With High Risk Technologies, Nov. 11, 2013: http://youtu.be/EBnz2X9V_MQ
Trunews November 11, 2013 - Charles Perrow PhD http://youtu.be/EBnz2X9V_MQ
Charles Perrow, PhD and Emeritus Professor at Yale University, discusses his deep concern regarding the perilous decommissioning process recently undertaken at the ravaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan. According to Perrow, if any two of the 1,535 fuel rods held within the reactor touch, it could cause an uncontrollable nuclear reaction that would warrant the evacuation of Japan and the West Coast of the United States.
It is still emitting radioactive materials [to the atmosphere] [...] not in a gigantic form, but its going to keep emitting that for a thousand years or so. I think the only thing they can do with it is cover it over with cement like they did at Chernboyl.
Q: Are we literally on the verge of seeing Japan ceasing to exist as a nation — Is it this serious? A: If we have a serious accident [...] or a serious earthquake, yes. The chances are we will get through it. I dont think that its guaranteed that theres going to be a nuclear holocaust from these events — but there is a high risk.
Study finds giant strontium-90 release into body of water begins around 1,000 days after meltdown — Dec. 5, 2013 = thousand days after 3/11 — Graphic shows very high levels being discharged for up to 50,000 days http://enenews.com/study-finds-giant-...
