Using my Fujifilm X20, I compare the built-in stereo mic with the Fujifilm MIC-ST1 and the Rode VideoMic. Personally, I think the Rode sounds much better. However, the ST-1 is well built and has decent quality. It really is a good upgrade to the built-in mic on an "X" camera and is good for general use. It is also MUCH smaller than the Rode VideoMic. My wish is that Fujifilm would sell the adapter cable separately. If you have a Fujifilm X camera, you may not have any other choice because of the proprietary cable. However, if you are just looking for a microphone, I would look elsewhere. As always, JMHO.
