Today’s patient, Terrell, is undergoing his second hair transplant procedure with Dr. Blumenthal at Natural Transplants. He is a Norwood 4 with curly hair and previously had an FUE procedure at another clinic about a year and a half ago. That first procedure focused on his hairline, but left room for improvement in overall density.
He came to us for a "fill-in" or what we often call a second coat of paint. Our goal with this FUT procedure is to reinforce his hairline and restore fuller density across the thinning areas.
It’s important to note that while FUE is commonly marketed as “scarless,” that’s a myth. All hair transplant procedures result in scarring. FUE leaves many tiny scars, while our FUT method, especially our enhanced HUE (High-Yield Unit Extraction ®) technique, results in a single, thin linear scar that is easily concealed. HUE® allows us to move more tissue in one session by taking a longer and wider donor section compared to traditional FUT.
The procedure was smooth and comfortable. The patient relaxed, watched almost an entire season of Big Brother, and even caught some sleep during the process. His message to others: it’s okay to feel nervous, but the team at Natural Transplants makes the experience easy and stress-free.
