Grenada is a small island in the West Indies in the Caribbean about 100 miles north of South America. Grenada has a population of 114,000 people and its capitol and main city is St Georges, and it's known as the spice island and it's also a tourist stop for cruise ships. The nation was a British colony then it became its own nation in 1974 and in 1979 it was taken over by the Marxist JEWEL movement aided by Cuba which led to the 1983 US invasion. Today its economy is tourism and producing nutmeg.
