So I found cheap tickets to Chicago and on a whim found myself there five days later. This is how I did it:

☀ I used skyscanner.com to find the cheapest dates to fly, but booked directly through the airline.
☀ I packed light – one school sized carryon bag to get a cheaper plane seat and because I would be walking around the city all day with that bag with everything I packed.
Check out the Girls Love Travel Facebook page for tons of helpful recommendations!
☀ I traveled in winter, a less touristy time and everywhere I went was uncrowded with little to no waits.
☀ The hostel I stayed at is Hi Chicago
☀ I put all the locations I was interested in on googles maps, then downloaded the offline map of the city to plan when I went where.

I was shocked about how fearful I was doing a trip completely alone and now how empowered I feel after doing it! Overall everything went amazing I am already planning my next solo trip. Let me know if you have questions below!
